I received a call from this number 50 minutes ago: Caller hung up after 2 rings. Oddly, a looping voicemail message on my iPhone stated that caller is from a "rewards" company, that I had earned a $100 gift card, and that I press "1" to redeem the $100 gift card or press "2" to be placed on its Do Not Call List, on which I am presently listed. To leave the voicemail loop, I must hit the voicemail's RETURN CALL button/bar on the top of my cellphone. Instead, I opted to shut my cellphone off but oddly, instead of shutting down, my phone automatically called the voicemail's number.

You won a giftcard, press 1 - when I tried to reach a person, it just went on a continuous loop.

if you pressed one you are probably in trouble my friend, you should check your phone balance or credit card info.

No answer - just hung up on me.

I don't answer calls from unknown numbers.

Received a call on my cell just now from this number. It rang once.

Called my 10 y/o daughter saying that she won a prize for visiting a website. Funny, she doesn't surf the net.

Block the calls.  Ask her phone provider how.  Or put the pest in her contacts list and assign it the ring tone "no ring".  That will send the calls to voicemail.  She'll have to clean out her voice mail occasionally.

There are limited-function cell phones available.  No internet, no aps, just calls.  Some providers even offer phone tracking so you can find the location of the phone, and thus the owner, by internet anytime you want.  That sort of phone would be perfect for a 10-year old who gets home from school while her parents are still at work.

I don't have the $ to give my son a phone, and don't think he needs one... anyways, there are always thousands of phones sold for kids after a school shooting; after Sandy hook, there was record breaking sales on simple kids cell phones... lots of paranoid parents. And BTW, when I was 10 we could have really used a phone after football practice.  We'd always call my mom from 1800 collect but a lot of times,  she hadn't gotten home from work yet, and no one had cell phones back then, would have been nice if they did and if we did.

Got a call with no message.  Time for me to run that Craigslist ad with their number.  They are now selling iPhones for $100.  This should tie up their phone for a while.  Let's see how they like it.
