Caller says he is with Microsoft Windows wanting to clear some problems on my computer. Suspect same caller called previous day on a different line, identified as a hoax (hacker)!

my mother received the same phone call today similar to Kathy above and this has shown on her caller id previously,  wouldnt go to site because her son in law is microsoft certified and she told him he would take care of this...mumbled something and he hung up on her

I received a phone call from this same number today at 11:13 a.m.  The name on my phone came up..JOAN HAGGAR.  201-585-1629.  They said they were a Technical Support Computer Company.  They told me that they received info that my computer was at great risk for hackers n I needed to go to my computer n they would help me thru it clearing it up. I gave them no info .. I dialed the number back n it said this mailbox Is unable to accept messages!  Definitely a scammer wanting to hack my account.  

I got the same person, JOAN HAGGAR, calling from this same number this morning, Tuesday, 4-8-14. She claimed to be from Windows Computer and said someone was trying to hack my computer and told me the same thing, that they would help me eliminate the problem. I gave them no info, either, and hung up.

I also got the same message and I told him I didn't want his help and hung up. He called me back from a different number and said "why you hung up on me you stupid women [***]" I then hung up on him again!

They called and acted like I wasn't replying back to the hello sounded like a 19 yr black woman

My aunt received a call from this number and came to me asking if this sounds legit. This is without a doubt a scam. Do not do anything these people tell you. They are trying to take control of your computer. In fact, don't even bother talking to them. Just don't answer.

Received a call from the same phone number with the Joann Haggar.  Said the same things to me as everyone else on these posts.  I told her I knew this was a scam and to take my name and number off their list.  Anyway as I was telling her off she hung up on me also.

My caller ID also showed Joann Haggar.  Like I see in these other posts, the caller was trying to talk to me about Windows issues on my computer.  I said this is an obvious scam, and don't call again.  The caller's attitude became belligerent, so I reacted with aggression as well and the caller hung up.  What an idiot.  Is turning hostile supposed to suddenly make me no longer believe it's a scam?

Same...caller ID showed Joann Haggar, 201-585-1629. Said he was from Microsoft and they detected a virus in my IP address. Told him I was not interested and he said I was crazy for not wanting to fix the virus. I replied no thanks and hung up.

201-585-1629 with Joann Haggar on caller ID.  She spoke with a foreign accent, said something about my computer, I told her I wasn't interested in anything she had to say and to never call my number again.  I hung up before she could reply.

Got a call from this number at 4 PM today.  Caller ID said call was from Joann Haggar.  I didn't answer it.

Got a call 2 days ago caller ID said Joann Haggar. Got another one this morning as FT. Lee, NJ. I had number blocked as well as area code blocked but scammer found out how to work around block and get my phone to ring. Now also have number blocked at phone.

Got a call from this number yesterday and caller ID said Joann Haggar.  Got another one today from the same number, but this time, the caller ID just said Fort Lee, NJ.

This number called on Tuesday, April 8 -- Caller ID shows "Haggar, Joann". they did not leave a message. I am wondering, given all the posts above saying they want you let them "fix" your computer  -- I have Windows XP, and have not yet replaced it, though Microsoft stopped supporting it on Tuesday. I wonder whether there is some way for scammers to discover whose computer still runs Windows XP, or is this just a coincidence?

Called left no message. I've now blocked the number. Thanks.

Most likely it's just a coincidence.  People who don't even have any Windows products have been randomly contacted by these scammers.

I received a call 4/7 @ 12:55 p.m. from Haggar Joann at that number and a foreign sounding man told me that my computer was messing up their server and they wanted me to press the flag key and they would direct me how to solve it. Then they put another man (supervisor) on the phone and I ask him if this was cost me very much and he said it depended on what was wrong with my (new) computer. I ask him to call back and they did but number listed as unknown.  I call the Ga consumer affairs and although they answered I waited 16 minutes on hold and hung up.  This is a number that has called me several times before, but was the first time I answered.  

The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!

Got the same call , foreign speaking man (Hindu for sure) with same story n as tamianth said only you can touch your PC . I was contacted on 4/13 and 14. People be aware! Do NOT GIVE ANY INFO JUST HUNG UP!!!!!!
