- monicaI figure it was a telemarketing company so I didn't answer. My number is on the Do Not Call Registry and telemarketers still calling.
- RalphHeavy India accent. Says my computer has a virus, and wants me to let him "fix" it for me by giving him control of my computer online.
DON'T EVER DO THIS! NEVER!
They want control of your computer so that they can harvest personal information such as credit card numbers, bank account numbers, Social Security numbers, etc.
If you've already been taken in by these crooks, you must immediately contact your bank, Social Security Admin., and anyone else you have an account with online. Act quickly, or you will find that your bank account had been emptied, credit cards maxed out, and there will be much more damage to come. You must also change all passwords for anything you have online, or you will find much more mayhem done in your name.- Caller: Lied. Claimed to be from Microsoft.

- JJCalled claiming to be from Microsoft and something about my windows based computer having problems. Told him I didn't own any windows based computers (Mac baby!) so this was impossible. They immediately hung up. SCAM!!!!!!!!

- egI got a call from this number and they indicated they were from Microsoft tech department. Said that my system was sending errors. I gave them permission to have access to my computer (bad mistake). When I noticed they put a password in that was questionable (SAM Lock Tool), I immediately hit control alt delete and shut down my computer. When I rebooted it came up requesting a password that I did not know. I did a repair on the computer and it is now working properly. I then contacted my bank and credit card company to change numbers.
THESE PEOPLE ARE IDENTITY THIEVES. DO NOT GIVE THEM ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER.
