I missed a call from this number too. I don't know anyone in New jersey. Should i call it back?

this is a collection agency. Sun-rise credit service.

I received a call from this number, declined to answer, and the message on my answering machine says "Hi this is call is for <my first name><my husband's last name>, this is Danielle Morgan <no company ID> and it's very important that this call is returned today at 1 866 244 2180."  I call BS because a) this isn't my correct name, b) she doesn't identify who she's with, and c) WTF is up with people calling me from one number trying to get me to *call them back* at an 800/866 number?  Why would I do that?

This is Sunrise Collection Agency. They called me, the woman wouldn't give me her name and didn't identify herself as a debt collector. She threatened me with legal action when I told her I wanted everything in writing about the so-called account I have with them becuase I have never heard about them and that I'd respond in writing when I got what they sent me. According to the Fair Debt Collection Laws they can't call you for 30 days after you request something in writing. I have since gotten two more calls with messages from an Alex Cross (or Croft?). They do not leave case numbers or anything else. They have also started to harass my co-signer on the "account" who is 92 with a heart condition and is protected from harrassment by federal and state laws. They keep saying I have an account with them but I don't. This comapny has already broken all sorts of laws with me. They are abusive, liars and con artists. Beware!

I have been getting calls from this number on a daily basis. When I answer they don't even say anything and hang up on me. So annoying !!!

I believe they are trying to collect a debt on behalf of Optimum Online. They are both tricky (call from 3-4 different phone numbers/area codes) and persistent (call sometimes up to 3-4 times per day) for what is a fairly small amount of money, $120.

Yeah, I've gotten two call the last two days. One from this number and one from out of Chattanooga, TN.
If it is a collections agency, I don't know why they are calling because I have no accounts in collections or going into collections. And any accounts that may potentially do so, I would be contacted by the company themselves either by phone or letter. Not to mention, I checked the numbers of all my accounts that could go to collections and not a single one of them has an 866 number.

I refuse to answer numbers outside of my area code and so have to listen to the voicemails.
This number, the voicemail was left by an actual person (Diane or Diana Morgan I think) and it just said "Hi this is ____, the is a message for (my name). It is important that you call us back at (866 number)". They don't say who they are or anything.
The other number to watch out for is 423-933-1462. They leave an AUTOMATED message that says the exact same thing.

As for what NJ Dave said about it being a collector for Optimum Online, I don't have an account with Optimum Online. My internet account is with a different company and the one time that account almost went into collections, they sent me a letter saying what I owed by when or they would send it to collections.

It has been my experience that all companies you have accounts with inform you via letter before they send your account to collections. And they send you at least 2 letters before doing that. Simply because they lose money when they report your account to collections.

So I just googled this Sunrise Collections Agency that some people think these calls are coming from and they don't have an 866 number either! Plus all there numbers are out of NY so if it's not an 800 number, then the area code is 631.

I think I might email them and let them no that someone is contacting people on their "behalf" to collect on non existent debts.

Correction. They have one 866 number but it doesn't match the number they gave me.

According to another site like this, it's a number trying to collect on Avon Accounts but it sounds like it's not legit because most of the people contacted either have paid in full or haven't been an Avon representative in a while.

this phone number just called and it defently wasnt a credit service it sounded like some kids laughing and jokeing or something

I have been getting calls from this number not sure who they are I have called back. Not sure what they want I have told them that I just gotten this number but they still call. Number calling is 201-628-9889

Sunrise Credit Services, collecting on behalf of Publisher's Clearinghouse.  Called and left no message.  When I called back, I spoke to a rep who gave his name as Jordan and was perfectly polite and businesslike.  However, this was with regard to an account that has been paid in full for some time; looks like they are operating on some outdated call lists.

Received numerous calls from this number.  No messages left.  Comes up Not Available on caller id.  Annoying and harassing.

I've been getting calls from this number at dinner time for about two weeks.

I have received this call almost daily, and get a hangup if I answer. There are times I get this call late at night or very early in the morning. I want it to discontinue.

They never leave a voicemail but they call almost daily. It's pretty irritating. I do owe money to Avon and I har received letters, but its for a different amount than what I actually owe.

they all every weekend, at 8am and hang up when i answer, not even the balls to talk !

It's AT&T.....we owe them money.  I just added them to my ignore list.  Can't squeeze a blood from a turnip.  Different (201) #'s....different people.
