difficult to understand the person due to mumbling and accent; they were only willing to speak with me, thus verified that it was me; they said i have been reported for tax evasion.

Very tired of getting calls from this "IRS" number

I had a message to call this number back. It claimed to be the IRS and was a time sensitive matter and I had to call back immediately.  I called the number as we have an issue - and did not realize it was not an 800 or 888 number as before. I figured it was a direct number to call a specific person.  I called and it rang 8 times. The person answered and he had a distinctive accent as from India. He said my phone number and I said this is my phone number. He began talking about something and asked me if this was correct.  I said " I do not understand one word of what you just said" and he ended the call

I've been getting thee types of phone calls for quite a while (NIS(now ICE,duh), IRS, & Treasury Dept). My accountant says to ignore them.  The IRS sends certified or regisered mail.

Caller claimed to be IRS and to call the IRS since its time sensitive to resolve the issue immediately. And left this number (201) 713-5495

Caller said he was with the IRS and I should call this number if I didn't want to be in further trouble.

That's a scam. Read about them on CNN on line.

Never say yes about anything.  Good job, but better to not even call back.   You confirmed your phone numbers andd I’m sure they resell their phone list, too
