They claim to be from the IRS, it was an automated call, and this is not the IRS hotline number?

This was an automated voice claiming to be an IRS hot line.  Nobody in their right mind would reply to a government agency in New Jersey.

IRS Fraud call.. track them and take them out if you can..

3 calls in a row on my voicemail from this number. Claiming to be from IRS with "important time sensitive information."

Same story. Spamming me with these calls.

I would think that impersonating the IRS is illegal.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Claimed to be the IRS and told me a deputy was coming to my house at the conclusion of the phone call to put me in jail!!! I told him I did nothing wrong and I cannot go to jail because I'm nine months pregnant! He then told me to ignore the phone call and to wait for documentation in the mail.. Yet has no address for me. I hung up. My brother found the number to be a scam.

These [***] called my mother and totally freaked her out, telling her the police were coming to arrest her and she would go to jail for violating privacy laws when she told my brother about the call.   Hey had her correct address, and my parents had been dealing with the irs because someone actually was using their San to claim a tax refund. But this is not the IRS.

Caller pretending to be from the IRS.  Scam.

Received a call from this number claiming to be "IRS" and said they had time sensitive info. I believe it is a scam therefore I will not call back. They need to find these people and arrest them!

this call is initiated by a foreigner hoping to scam a naive individual into giving out his/hers ss# and mothers maiden name,they also want your address phone number,complete address,then banking information,if someone is stupid enough to give this information to a [***] over the phone then they deserve to get ripped off....the i.r.s. would never contact anyone by phone,believe me,if they have business with you,there gona send you certified mail,as they wanna make sure you get there invitation to fuq....

NOT IRS......NOT IRS,      IRS "only" sends you mail when they need to contact you......NEVER BY PHONE.  Block these bottom feeders or don't answer, or you will be scammed and your info SOLD to more scammers as they now consider you easy money and your info has value till you are BROKE.   P.S. threats of sending "the law" to your door, have fun tell them send them and you will have coffee and a meal ready for them.......no one is coming folks!!!!!!

I just received a call on my cell phone (which is on the no call list) from this number. It was an automated call saying it was "John with CI of the IRS."   Figure it is a scam trying to get info from people.  Caller ID showed it out of New Jersey.
