I just got a call from this number, recording said they were Credit Card Services, that there were no current problems on any of my accounts, but to answer immediately to receive lower interest rates.  I pressed 9 as instructed and got a live male operator, who hung up on my the instant I asked if they had a Do Not Call list.  I tried *69 redial, but got a phone company message saying that couldn't be done for this call.

I just got a call (March 12, 2010, 4:44 pm)) from this cell phone telephone number.  The recording identified its origin as being from "Credit Card Services", and it said that there were no current problems with any of my accounts, but to press 9 to hear about lowering interest rates.
I pressed 9 as instructed, even though I do not carry a balance on any credit card, and got a "live" male operator, who hung up instantly after I asked to be taken off their list.
I call him back, BUT, this number does not accept incoming calls.
Where are these calls originating from. The man "from Credit Card Services" did not have any accent as far as I could detect

Yeah I just got that call with a woman's voice.  Exactly as stated above.  She had a British accent, which is weird as I have never had that happen before.  My husband is British so we wondered what the heck it was. I did not press 9; I hung up.  A mystery phone call.

Why bother with *69. It costs money doesn't it? But don't bother calling these twits back, even if you actually get someone and ask to be put on their don't call list. Then they just know they got a live one and will keep calling. Probably from a lot of different numbers.

The live answer was by a black man with a Chicago accent (i.e. generic)

I got this call today and waited because I didn't recognize the phone number on caller ID (listed as a wireless number).  As soon as my announcement started, the robo-voice started talking, so I couldn't really hear much of what was said.  (Dunno why they don't wait until after the announcement.)  The voice was female.  I could hear some of the words mentioned in previous posts, such as, "no problems with ... account...," so I guess it must have been the same jerks.  I thought I heard a "real" voice, so I picked up the phone, but the call was disconnected.

I hate when this happens, esp. when I have to run all the way downstairs when I'm in the middle of something else.  I'd been expecting an important call, which is why I ran for it.  (No caller ID on the upstairs phones.)

When will phone/computer systems geniuses come up with a way to block these calls?  So much for Do Not Call lists.

Forgot to mention that my phone is in eastern MA, like a number of others posting here.

I just recieved the same call , from" Sarah" and she had a British accent, she stated  the same line re: my credit card balance. I pressed *69 and got a live female operator that asked me who she was speaking with, duh I said you called me and if I can find out who you are I am coming after you with a gun ! I think I surprised her because she didn't hang up ! I keep getting these calls and I am so angry because I am on the do not call list also !

they called my cell today was recoding of a lady with a british accent, when i hit the #9 to find out what this was about my cell d/c, i called from home it's some kind of mail box. probally a scammer becuase if it was about your c.c they would know your name and have a valid number.  they are jusr scammer trying for to reval your c.c info to them, the recording says to lower your interest rate.

Recurring calls from Credit Card Services, this company has been reported here numerous times and has been reported to DoNotCall.gov, and yet they still call, all they do is change their phone number

Keep reporting them to http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm?sid=&id=d1e37
They follow up by volume so the more people who report these crooks the sooner action will be taken.

It's a phishing expedition...  "credit card services"  doesn't mention a firm...  and wants you to contact them about "a letter that you may have already gotten" and an offer to keep "your credit card" rate from going higher...

Steer clear.

Just rec'd a call from this number. It came up on the caller ID as "wireless caller". It was hard to understand what was being said so I figured it was some crap telemarketer and hung up.

received a  call yesterday and number showed on caller id and when I tried to call it it I couldn't Then today I got the caller id from 206-397-1505 and this return call could not go thru either.  Probably the same scammers

Beware, this # is a scam and the callers use the most disgusting language. We see it's a cell phone registered in N.J.

Just received a call from that number, didnt make it to the phone but when I called it back I got a very disturbing message right out of the gate. Quit F#@king calling me and bothering me

I just had the exact same phone call! And when I called the number back I got a recording of a man's voice saying....."Quit F#@cking calling me and bugging me!" Then it said "This subscriber is not accepting incoming calls at this time." and tehn it disconnects. I immediately went to the National Do Not Call website and registered my number. https://www.donotcall.gov/

I don't understand the point of this scam call...
What can they possibly get from calling you, telling you to hit 9 and then hanging up on you?
Does anyone know what they possibly could gain from this act?
