A very suspicious call from a "Windows representative" saying we had "unusual activities" on our computer.  We asked to call them back and they said that they were unable to receive calls.  We hung up at that point.

Also a "Windows representative" contacting me about an upgrade. I told them they had the wrong number to which they replied "this is not a prank call, this is an important message about your Windows computer."  Then I said "I don't have a Windows computer, who exactly are you trying to reach?" They hunt up after that.

Same as above, except I told them. "Thank you. I had my Windows computer fixed the other day. It works great now. Thank you again."  This answer is not on their script - so they don't know what to say and THEY hang up.

Same here.  Told them I use a MAC

great job government...... take my money in taxes for my phone lines....but of course let theses idiots rip of our citizens. if it was me trying to rip of people id be in jail.....aint that how it works though.

Several calls from this # this week, when I finally did answer one there was no one on the line.

Called to tell me that my windows pc was infected with malware, and they could walk me through the process of fixing it.  I asked how they got my number.  They said you provide your number when you purchase a computer.  To that I replied, "You are not a very good scammer, because I don't even own a Windows based PC."  With no reply, he hung up on me.

Just got the call...from Microsoft and that every time I got on to the Internet they were getting error messages (doesn't the error message pop up to and I'm the one who has to report it Microsoft?). Anyway if I log on to my computer they could walk me through to find the files. I didn't feel comfortable told them to loose my #. Couldn't understand them and can't tell you if it was a man or woman.

Called my cell phone 3 times in 2 minutes and never left a message ... after reading other posts, I just blocked them and won't ever have to deal with their annoying calls again!

Same here. I answered and no one was on the line either.

They called me early said my windows 10 is down loading junk mail, I don't have Windows ten he hung up. I figured is wa ls a scan to high jack my computer and then ransom it back

I live in Los Angeles.  I recently posted a negative yelp Review about a Vegas show promoted by a well know production company and a Representative got back to me. They offered me complementary tickets for Next week. I am waiting to receive the tickets right NOW as I go to Vegas next week. Just an Hour ago I emailed them my phone number and Last Name to have the tickets emailed to me. All of a Sudden I get this (202) call I have never received before. I picked up, No body on the line. Googled the number thinking it was them, found this forum. Maybe its Nothing....Maybe its Something! Maybe its nothing a All but it is Illegal to solicit a Cell Phone.

Multiple calls/hang ups within a few minutes to a half hour. Did not answer any of the calls.

I just received the same call and hung up! they are now on my blocked caller list!

I got phone call and i said im not interested.  They kept saying why arent you interested?  I said cause i dont know who you are, I dont like telemarketers, and i dont like to be bothered with cold calls.  He kept pushing the issue so i hung up and blocked the number.  I see its from washington dc very interesting.

Said was a window representative and there was suspicious activity and asked me to go.to the computer  and he will show me what is wrong. I told him I can do it let me know what I need to look for. He insisted on me going to the computer. I told him he was my service representative so he could tell and he said he couldn't; then I insisted he could and finally he hung up.

You've probably entered your number on the internet somewhere. That's where they get it.  BTW that is a spoofed fone # [someone using Skype or some internet telephone program].
Ebil Guberment had nothing to do with it.
Also, your 'taxes' do not pay for your phone lines. Telephones are provided by private companies, so complain to Verizon, or Sprint, or At&t or Cricket or whoever your provider is.
