Left message that this call is officially final notice from IRS. Reason to inform us that lawsuit is brought against us. To get more information on file call department number 202-230-0205. Clearly scam.

I just received a call from this number with an official notice from the "IRS" that a lawsuit is being brought against us and I would be arrested with in the hour if I didn't pay.  I was so upset until my husband told me that this is clearly a scam!!!!!!!  OMG!!!  What is this world coming to.

Just got a call from 202-230-0205 telling me they were with the IRS and a lawsuit was filed against me.  I hung up and they called right back.  I had my daughter call them from a blocked line and asked them who they were and they refused to talk to her and hung up.  This is clearly a SCAM because no federal agency would refuse to disclose who they are when you call them.  Also the IRS is required by law to send out formal notifications by mail in regards to any possible actions against you.

Total scam!! it was clearly from a foreign country. I was told I was going to get arrested and would have to post $75,000 bond. They were nice enough to reduce the fine from $6600 to half if I paid. So I told them to send the Sheriff and arrest me!

Can't believe this crap really happens

Received pre-recorded call today from 202-230-0205 Claimed from IRS "last warning. IRS is filing lawsuit against you"
Heard it on my answering machine. Apparently, they had a workday today, as I see, all comments above are from today too. Don't get fooled though. It is very well documented and known scam, which is around already for sometime.

Do these people EVER realize that people are smart enough to know that these types of calls are scams and not to fall for them? If so, why don't they give up?

Actually many people do fall for them.   The callers to go after women, single mothers, the elderly and members of hte immigrant community.  Now they are going after young students.  They are looking for vulnerable people. Anybody they think might not be knowledgeable about how the IRS functions.

For example, many people actually believe that:

1 .  IRS makes initial   contacts by phone.    [false]
    2.   IRS  files lawsuits.  . [false]
    3.  That  IRS can call on local law enforcement   to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  [false]
    4.  That having a deficiency in taxes owed by way of audit is  a crime. [false]
    5.  That people are prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. [false]

With so many people believing such stuff, it's no wonder the scammers rake in 20 to 30 million a year.

Everyone ought to educate themselves about these scams.

You're an idiot and a racist, Alaska. How does this have anything to do with President Obama? Scammers have been around since the stone age.
