received call that was recorded stating that I have a lawsuit that the IRS has filed against me and that I needed to call 202-239-7362

Received a call stated that he was from IRS and that I had a lawsuit against me in my name for trying to do a tax fraud and they had someone coming to my house to arresst me

Was a phone call stating I was under arrest for tax fraud...to call 202 239 7362

Received call claiming to be from the IRS and that this is my final notice. They are sending a warrant out for my arrest and taking me to jail. Total fraud!

Left a message claiming to be an IRS agent; accused me of tax fraud; and threatened arrest if I didn't call back.

Left a recorded message saying I did IRS fraud I don't deal with the IRS I'd like to know if anyone took the call and what exactly the scam is !!

This is a pervasive extortion scam that has been going on for close to three years.

There are numerous telephone and email scams in which individuals claim to be employees of the Treasury Department. These scammers often state that they are from the “Department of Legal Affairs,” offer grant money in exchange for you wiring a small payment, or threaten to arrest you within a short period of time unless payment is made. Do not provide personal information or payment to these individuals.  Their actions are crimes under Titles 18 and 31 of the United States Code, and the Treasury Office of Inspector General is working to stop them.

If they claim to be from Treasury, report  it to OIGCounsel@oig.treas.gov with a description.  If it was a phone contact, include:
the exact date and time that you received the call(s)
the phone number of the caller
the geographic location and time zone where you received the call
a description of the communication.

If they claim to be from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or it is about taxes, report it to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at:
