A guy called my dad this morning, claiming that my mom owed the IRS money.  The guy had a Vietnamese accent (my family is Asian) but the guy gave his name as "David Johnson."  This is the number the guy gave out but when I called it, it goes straight to a generic voicemail with no identifying information.

I received a call from this number at 9:10 AM ET and told me to call back and talk to Daniel Peter because I owe IRS money for the year of 2012.  I called this Daniel Peter. I said: " Is this Daniel Peter?"  He asked me phone #.  I said " who are you?"  He hung up on me.

I have been getting repeated calls at my home from David Johnson at this number, claiming to be the IRS.  They are asking for my previous married name, which I have not used in 9 years!  Now he is calling my cell....when I called back and told them that is not my name, I was told they will send court documents, show up in court, and they hung up.  Persistent scammers!

Got a call this morning around 7:30 a.m.  Rang three times before I finally answered.  It was a fellow who called himself David Miller--a "paralegal" for the "IRS DEPARTMENT".  Told me to call Daniel Pederos regarding a problem with my last year's tax return.  When I asked the problem, he mumbled something I couldn't understand and told me something to the effect that I would need to speak to Daniel Pederos at 202-241-1818.
I went to my office and called from a business line rather than my home phone.  The call went to a generic voice mail.  In about thirty minutes, I received two calls at the same time from 1-800-829-1040. It was Daniel Pederos.  He told me his name, that he was with the IRS and that someone had called from this number. I told him he was NOT with the IRS and I had checked up on him and knew all about him.  His reply, "O.K., I'll see you in court, m----r f----r, and he hung up on me.  I don't think real IRS agents call people m----r f----r.

Got two calls from this number saying he's from the IRS about legal action.  When I called back, he said he was from the Internal Revenue Service.  I asked, how do I know you're from the IRS?  He said, there is nothing I can say to make you believe that.  He then asked for the name of my lawyer.  I told him I would not give him the name of my lawyer.  Then he mumbled something about meeting my lawyer at the courthouse, and hung up.  Idiot.

Indian accented man claimed to be John Williams (my favorite guitar player), told me that there was a ?deficiency? in my tax records.  Well, I told him I'd need to talk to someone else and that's when he hung up.  I am expecting another call…. til then, don't give them any info or payment information.

Called around 7 a.m. on a Wednesday (in the mad rush to get to a meeting at work). Guy with heavy Indian accent and English name using some non-colloquial verbiage. Seems they are reading off of a script. Didn't ask for anything. Creepy scammers - obviously foreign - using a Washington D.C. number to spoof folks.
