A robocall with a robot sounding voice in English saying that there is a lawsuit from IRS and that we should call back the number to confirm what the lawsuit is about. It was obvious from the call that the scammer's first language is NOT English-- it didn't sound like conversational English.

Received two calls claiming lawsuit against me due to tax audit. They sounded like a robot voice a male with strong accent😁 claiming that if I don return call the lawsuit will be filed in county courthouse? I returned call it ranged and then beeped like answering machine picked up, but no one answered. Now they keep calling.

I have gotten 2 calls today :-( ..... What do they think .... that we are stupid? In some ways I would like to call the number given and play along but I won't.

Just had two from the same automated service, with two different numbers, this one 202-241-2693, and 202-286-1663. Both stating an IRS service alert.

These are criminal extortionists operating in overseas boiler rooms using VOIP to alter their identities and locations and out of the reach of US law enforcement.

If someone calls saying he's an IRS agent and demands that you send money immediately, hang up.
It's a phone scam.In fact, it tops the IRS "Dirty Dozen" list of tax scams this year, and it's been surging in recent months, the agency said Thursday.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), which oversees the IRS, has received reports of 290,000 scam calls since October 2013 and said nearly 3,000 victims have been swindled out of $14 million so far.

By altering their caller ID number to make it look like they're calling from an IRS office, these scammers often threaten vulnerable people like the elderly and new immigrants with things like arrest, deportation or the loss of their driver's license if they don't pay immediately for money purportedly owed.

Often leaving messages that say it's "urgent" you call them back, the scammers use common names and sometimes say they are from the IRS Criminal Division. They may even claim to know the last four digits of your Social Security number and send follow-up emails that appear to be from the IRS, TIGTA said.

They often demand that payments be made by prepaid debit card.

Once they make their threats, the scammers have been known to call back and again disguise their caller ID so it appears they are calling from the police department or the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Or sometimes when they call, they may say you have a refund due and ask you to provide personal information so you can claim it.

The real IRS will usually contact you by regular mail first, if it needs to contact you at all. And the agency never demands immediate payment by phone or asks for credit card or debit numbers if they do call. It also never asks for personal or financial information by email, text or social media.

Scammers stop calling us not all Americans are gullible....

I got a call from this number claiming to be an attorney Rochell Storm from Financial Crimes Department,  That I refused to pay back a pay day loan. If I did not call immediately I would be arrested in 3 hours.....Oh yeah I saved the voice message. I called they did not answer asked me to leave my name and information on the machine they would be in touch, I just hung up 2 seconds later they called and it was a very thick accented man asking why I do not pay my bills???? I asked him to send me a copy of the loan papers and the amount, documentation of a promissory note and proof of what account the funds were deposited. He tells me I should already have all of that from when I got the loan. I repeated send me evidence and then if I am wrong I will pay it, otherwise send the police and I will see them in court.

It didn't make sense but they have my name and SSN and that there is a lawsuit filed against me and that in three hours the police will come to my doorstep and arrest me- call the phone number to get the charges and be ready for the detention.

IRS scam don't worry it's all a scam
