This number keeps calling me. I just happened to pick it up yesterday and turned out the callers are Indian folks presenting themselves as IRS officers. They are scamming folks with bogus stories. They even make threats suggesting that you committed tax fraud and local sheriff is being dispatched for your arrest unless you pay them thousand of dollars. Just hang up if you did answer, do not fall for this scam!! Do not give out any personal information. They may know your full name, DOB, last digits of SSN, your address and employer. IRS never calls and demand money on the phone paid by pre-paid debit card or wire transfer!

The IRS contacts people initially by paper mail letter. It will contain a phone number for you to call them back.

I got a phone call from this number couple times this morning telling me he is IRS and found I had a tax Fraud over the last 6 years and want me to report the case right away to them.

Receive the same phone call regarding to tax fraud from IRS department. If this is a scam people need to be alerted.

The IRS HAS issued an alert, easily found via google or whatever search engine you prefer.
Did you expect a personal phone call or text message?

There is a fairly common IRS or "tax scam" being practiced by scammers in both Canada and the USA.

"Hazel" just called. Same threatening garbage as the other calls.  When I refused to give info, she said she was calling the police to have me arrested.   Told her the chief lives next door and I can save her a phone call...he's home.  She hung on me :)

she called from 202-241-6149 but has also called from 202-621-0212.

Received a call from a person at this the number saying he was calling from the IRS and was going to file a case for some fraud within 2 hours.  When asked for his address, phone number and batch ID - he gave  all the numbers - phony.  On Googling learnt others had similar call.

First a fake IRS agent with an Indian accent named "Frank Ritz" then his angry black woman supervisor called. Multiple harrasing calls, demanded immediate payment or arrest in 30 minutes by Sherrif. Scam. Said you can take care of payment now or go to Jail.

this number 202 241-6149 called me so several time in the day for months and i never picked up the phone and I suspect then I returned the call this morning and there was no answer and strange noise on the phone. And i tried to Google search this number i couldn't find the owner name.  Finally i found others who have the same problems with this number.  Thank you for sharing. and I have to be aware and let the members of my family knows about this scam with this above phone number.

It happened to me like others but i did not pick up the phone. There are several times calls during the days and on going for more than three months and i ignore.  Today i tried to retrace the call and there was no answer. I go to Google search and I find a lot of comments for this number 202 241 6149. Please find the way how to stop this.

this number called me and  he said that he is calling from IRS, dont get caught to this third grade B .IRS will write to you if you have done any thing wrong so just  asked them to give thier no you to call back and if they take more time just hand up.
