This number has called my phone twice today. Both times they have left a message saying they are calling from the IRS and there is fraud attached to my SSN. It is someone that has a very heavy foreign accent. They said that if I don't call back the police will come and arrest me. How do I make these calls stop????!!!!

I also got the call from this number. I call directly irs and irs told me ignore these kind call and call 1 800-366-4484 to report it.

I also keep getting these call, I am surprised that there is nothing we can do except report these fraudulent calls,  There has to be a better way to stop and file charges against these idiots.

Exactly same message on my voice mail including I could be arrested.

•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

"Brian Brown" from 202-280-7114 called and informed me that he is an agent from IRS. I asked whether it stands for the Internal Revenue Service, the taxation agency, he confirmed that it is.

"Brian" informed me that the IRS has a pending lawsuit against me on back taxes. He also said telephone conversation is recorded and is binding in court. He list all the penalties, such as arrest, freeze of bank account, if I do not give him my credit card over the phone RIGHT NOW to settle the case out-of-court.

"Brian" threatened to harass my parents if I do not pay immediately. This is criminal.

You are correct.  "Brian (or whatever name he is using now) is a criminal & a liar.  The IRS sends letters, not phone calls.  The caller is probably art of an Indian scam that fakes the 202 area code.

The frightening thing is Brian has my parents' address. What can we do to preserve our privacy in the U.S. to better protect ourselves when our names, addresses, and telephone numbers are sold to unknown third parties whenever we open a bank account, apply for a school to improve ourselves, or even something as meaningless as entering a jelly bean guessing contest?

I continue to get calls from this number - Washington, DC. He knew my name and address ". . . there is a warrant out for your arrest . . . " He (heavily accented) spoke faster and faster, then I said I didn't understand him. There was a pause, then "Ok . . .good-bye".

I received the same call from 202.280.7114 from "Ofc. Victor Adams" on both my home and cell for my husband.  The guy had a very heavy accent and said my husband had tax fraud charges pending against him.  This is utterly ridiculous.

I received the call also - the message said it was from the IRS Fraud depart from Office Richard Adams - Sounded Indian with a name like Richard Adams - sounds like the same person DAP, above, was called.

Is there a remedy for this?

Also got a call from this # from a man with a heavy accent sounded Indian.  Claim to be IRS and blah blah blah! This is absolutely ridiculous!  Last time I got these calls they harassed me at work and it took my boss getting very angry and yelling at them for them to stop.

This moron that sound like from India due to his heavy accent claims that my husband is involved in money laundering and wants me to speak to Officer Brown for out of court settlement. I asked for file or case number but he was unable to provide
me. At our initial conversation, I asked him to spell it out due to I cannot understand his english and he said "T-E-X" which
I think he meant "T-A-X".. This idiot who claims to work for IRS can't even spell the word tax. THIS IS A BIG TIME FRAUD
AND DO NOT FALL IN THEIR TRAP!!

Good question.  Information technology seems to make privacy a thing of the past.  Anybody can find out anything about anybody.  

In the short run a call blocker is your best bet.

keeps calling my phone saying hes from the irs leaves messages every day , i know this isnt the Irs cause i would be getting mail not a call . number is 2022807114    also calls from 2027651813 its sad we have to be bothered by scams what had the world come too.

I had a same type of call they gave me to call back # 2022807114, I did called back spoke to some Brandon Brown and ask about my case for  which I never got any mail. he said they send all mail now no more mail . I asked him to fax documents ,hung up on me. I think this very much scams.
