- Lynn| 3 repliesCalled and said Mark Thomas from DEA and asked for me to call back-when you do it is very convincing that it is the DEA office. Want your money-verified with true DEA this is a scam.
- Keith| 1 replyFeb 29, 2012 I got a call from 202-280-7264 from someone identifying themselves as Special Agent Mark Thomas. Said I was in violation of several laws from an alleged online purchase from 2007. Made lots of threats, i.e., 5-7 yrs in federal prison, sending DEA agents to search my house, warrant for my arrest, etc. Or I could pay a fine.....what a scam. BEWARE!!
- Rob replies to KeithWow, now the feds call first before coming to arrest you? What great customer service. Next, they'll be making appointments to extort money or scam you. Progress, it's a wonderful thing.
- TrishJust got a call from this guy Mark Thomas Special DEA Special Agent. He told me that I was involved in an ongoing case whereas I made an illegaI purchase online 3 months ago and that customs had seized the medication. The only thing is that I did not buy any meds online 3 months ago. Oh I forgot, if I could pay and he didn't know for sure $300 to $1000 he would take care of everything and my record woud stay clean. Thanks to the many posts I now know this is a scam.
- Caller: DEA Special Agent Mark Thomas
- anonymous replies to Lynn| 1 replyTHIS IS AN EXTORTION SCAM. Scammers pretend to be law enforcement (police, sheriff, Feds, AG's Office, fake cop agencies with made-up names) and may be using bought/hacked/phished loan application data to extort money or personal info for fictitious crimes.

- Douglas ReedYes I got it today. Very aggressive scam. Took me a couple of whacks to make them go away.
- KathleenI got 2 calls today fromt his guy about a purchase I supposedly made in 2005 - what a bunch of bs - he told me if i wanted to clear it up today he could take payment of a $500 fine over the phone. I told him I'd need to see something in writing from the DEA, that I don't give my credit card out over the phone, and I told him this sounded like a phishing scam. He hung up on me.Then I came home and googled the number - and ended up here! My mother did not raise an idiot. :)
- Caller: "DEA"
- Robert ScottI received a phone message this morning from someone alleging to be from the DEA - asked me to call him back. The line was full of static and the voice almost inaudible. These guys are totally unconvincing. Best to ignore them entirely.
- Caller: 202 280-7264
- Dawn GrahamReceived a phone call from both 434-993-4161 and 202-280-7264 stating they are a special agent from the DEA and needed to speak to me about an ongoing investigation involving an online pharmacy that has been shut down and my involvement with them. Involvement???? The DEA itself posted a news article to be aware of this scam going around. Maybe those phony DEA agents should do more reading and realize they are committing a crime posing as an agent.

- oooh, I'm scared....notsame stuff, Wilbert Plumer of the FDA called my sister in law. Very aggressive and threatening. I had to give her illegal narcotics, explain that it was a scam to put her at ease... lol
- itsalaf replies to anonymousHe just called me. I had previously had these calls before. I laughed at him. He wasn't very happy. Dumb [***]!
- RACHEL JIMENEZI received several threating phone calls today saying that I had federal warrants out for my arrest and that I will be arrested at home or at work and that I will go to jail for 4 to 7 years but I could avoid this if I paid a fine of $300 to $4000. They wanted to meet me at a Federal Agency in the city that I lived in and that I needed to fill out paper work. They told me not to go to the sheriff's offfice this was a federal crime not a county. I did go and speak with 2 detectives and they spoke with one of the criminals. I later called back to see if they were going to do anything about this but he said it is just impossible. I have never been so scared and shaken to the core and I have been today. Now I am very angry and want something done about this before someone else falls for this scam. I feel like my life has been turned upside down. This is a cruel and visious scam to pull on anyone. I hope this email does not go un-heard.
