So called IRS robocall saying they will be suing me. Warned me to not retain legal counsel or "the situation will unfold on you." That particular phrase has bizarre syntax, , and I'm certain it's a scam from a country where English is definitely not the first language. I suppose it could be from India (as many on this site have mentioned), but it could be from Russia or China -- anywhere really. The voice synthesizer used was extremely poor. I'd like to think that if it was the IRS, the government would at least have better voice generating software.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. - EdSCAM!!!!! Called us and left same robo message. Ironically they called a friend who called them back and almost gave them credit card # and $700. They threatened legal "unfolding".

- DLH| 1 replySCAM!! Received robo call from 202-280-7465 - Definitely an IRS scam. Prerecorded 'digital' voice identifies as being from the IRS and you have been called because there is a lawsuit on you. The roboc call never identifies"you" As with Ed's comments above they threaten legal action. I called the number and received a pre recorded message that I had reached the IRS and that their lines were busy howver, the voice on the other end was a man with a very thick central asian accent. This is definitely a SCAM! The IRS will NEVER CALL YOU on the phone asking for your bank information or credit card payment right then and there!
