CALLER STATED HE IS FROM IRS AND I AM ABOUT TO BE ARRESTED FOR TAX FRAUD. THIS IS A SCAM DO NOT ANSWER CALLS FROM THIS PHONE NUMBER !!

I just got a call from them stating it was the IRS & I must return the call.

Called said I needed to pay or go to jail. Had the right amount I owed. Foreign speaking person.

I received a threatening phone call that claimed to be from the Criminal Division of the IRS claiming it was a time sensitive call and if I did not call right away the local Sheriff would be sent to arrest me.  I do not owe the IRS, have legally filed my taxes and do not appreciate the threatening nature of this call.

Benn getting calls from this number and I never answer them , But they left a message saying they are form the IRS !!

Just got a call from 202-280-7705 saying I owed money to the IRS, when I confronted the indian-accented man he called me a [***], at which point I hung up, good for nothing scammers!!

I started laughing when this guy called. It was so funny that he'd think I'd believe he is IRS. I told him, Ok I ll call you back though the IRS direct line (1-202-283-1710) and he hung up on me! Ha Idiots....!

Several calls from this number with same strategy as noted. I called them back, get hang ups but first answer swore at me when I confronted them.

This is a Pakistan or India based IRS scam. Do not fall for it. The IRS does not initiate any legal action via phone.

As general background information, here are a few things you can do:
1) Report it to TIGTA under http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml especially if you have become a victim (lost money, gave personal information etc.). You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at ftc.gov/complaint (include “IRS Telephone Scam" in your complaint). This way you can also help the government establish specific fraud patterns.

2) Help kill their phone lines. The scammers use Voice over IP lines (e.g. magicJack (Ymax corporation)) to make it seem as if they are calling from the US. This is always against these companys' terms of service and can lead to immediate termination of their contract and blocking of their IP addresses for future attempts to register. Do a reverse look up of their telephone number (e.g. www.whitepages.com) to identify the Voice over IP provider and report it to the company and/or law enforcement (local police and/or state attorney general)

3) If you are really annoyed: call or write to your representative in Congress. As these scams happen all over the country maybe this will trigger a reaction and provide US law enforcement agencies with the political backing and the resources they need to work in India and Pakistan together with local authorities (it can happen, read: http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/ex-call-cen ... mmission-320427). Scammers leave me alone, SCAMMERS!!! DO NOT listen to these people. Like really the IRS or any Law Informant Agencency is going to call you and tell you pay money and we will Arrest you. Boloni!!!!

Received a message at 6:00 AM today and again a few hours later.  (she sounds as if she's from India)  

I NEVER thought they'd find me!!!!!

She said she was Kelly (Kally) Jones from the 'Internet Revenue Service Department'.

NOW I'M SCARED.... LOL......

I have no more fingernails left to bite.... NOW WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Why don't they just call Lois Lerner - she has all our records stating that we paid ALL the INTERNET REVENUE SERVICE DEPARTMENT fees the last time that Hell froze over.

Keep calling and texting that I am approved for 10,000 the name that comes up is Advance America when you question them they become rude. This number has been reported for over a year. Please do not answet or fall for their scam. Shut this number down

Never return these calls! in this country you don't get calls from the IRS or any federal government agency unless it's state level. the IRS doesn't need to call anyone they just do what they do thru legal communication (letters) and never by email. . established communication should be from a legit letter with contact information from the federal/state government agency. I don't work for the IRS but I do work for a government agency. Nothing's legit unless it's signed, sealed and delivered(via US postal).
