That means it is a call center which does not accept inbound calls.  I just block them.

Got a call from this number and the lady talking sounded dumb as [***].  She told me she worked for "the government" but would not elaborate on what department.  She kept saying I had been rewarded 9,000$ and I think she wanted my credit card info.  Said "the government" was rewarding me for paying bills on time and that I was randomly selected... I a am a second year college student and am dependent on my parents: translation? I've never paid a bill in my life.  Assuming this is some sort of scam-based company

Don't know who this call came from, but when I tried to return the call, it was unable to connect to the number. I think it is some kind of scam call.

I just received a call from this number on my cell phone.  The woman (who barely spoke a word of English) said she was working for the "U.S. Government" and I have been randomly selected for a $9K citizen grant because I had no criminal record (or something bizarre like that).  I knew this was a scam, but wanted to see how far she'd go.  I asked her which agency she is calling from, and she repeatedly said "the US Government" then said something about the Department of Health and Human Services.  The one thing that bothered me the most is that she stated it was a "lawyer grant."  I don't know if she actually knew who she was calling and did some sort of due diligence on my number but it was very weird.  Could be coincidence.  Regardless, the more I kept pushing back to find out who she was and asking her questions (i.e., who are you trying to reach; how did you get this number; where are you calling from; etc.), the more flustered and annoyed she became and she ultimately hung up.  Figured if I googled the number, I'd find something like this.

I got a call earlier today from this number 202-301-2642 so since I wasn't too busy and hate to get these kind of calls I played along with it just for fun. The lady that called from 202-301-2642 with a very heavy accent by the way was almost not clear enough to understand and said I had been selected for a $9,000 Federal Grant for been a good Citizen and that I did not have to pay it back. (Well needless to say that was very fishy.) I told her I was without a job and the money would come in handy but wanted to know what was the catch. She said all they needed was my name, my bank or debit card account number and the name of the bank I'm with. (Imagine that! That was all they needed and I could have $9,000 in my bank account within 45 minutes she said.) Too funny, well, while she supposedly confirmed my bank account info which was fake (I was not about to give her my real info at all) I was plotting what my name would be so I said my name is Don, Don Munee and my middle name is Gut. Obviously she didn't get it because she then gave me a supposed confirmation number for my grant and told me I had to call another number 202-738-1086 and that they were waiting for my call to transfer the money. That number turned up to be a Verizon Wireless phone number, I called and hung up when a guy answered, he called back and I told him that my 3 year old daughter was playing with my phone and hung up. I called later again and did the same thing, again that was the same voice on the other side of the line. It is impossible for your to call a call center and get the same person twice, it's like winning a scratchoff of something. Again I hung up and he called right back, I was surprised he didn't realize I had called before so I gave him the same story, I said, no I didn't call, let me see if my daughter was playing with my phone and he hung up. I should call him acting like the lady calling from the Federal Government offering him a grant but I guess he won't answer my calls anymore. Oh well, I'll have to wait for the next scam to come around so I can play with their heads. lol  I was so disappointed she didn't understand my name. Don Gut Munee (Don't Got Money) lol Anyway good luck to everyone out there, be safe, do not give out your personal information to anyone even if they claim to be calling your from the presidents private phone. Whoever wants to give you money will find you just like those that want to collect money from you will find you as well. Ha ha ha.

I also got a call from this number and she was saying that I got reward of 9k. I said I don't need reward and she hung up the phone. Guys be Careful

SOME times you get fake IRS calls demanding you pay fine for unpaid taxes. Just check with IRS before paying anyone.
They are masking or spoofing numbers as they appear really IRS is calling. You may get calls from 911 also. Generally you don't get calls from 911. Be careful and spread the word. They are targeting elders, new immigrants, home makers and other very innocent people. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD AND HELP OTHERS.

202-301-2642 just rang my phone twice and hung up so I googled it and saw your post.  I called back the terrorist man at 202-738-1086 and acted dumb that I wanted my grant money. Of course I blocked my phone number. He said I needed a voucher number.  I told him what do I need to do to get my $$ and he said without a voucher # he couldn't help me and hung up. I just needed to waste his time.  Remember...an [***] is born into this world every second plus we are importing them into this country thousands a day. BE CAREFUL
