Robocall claiming to be IRS, advising that there is a lawsuit against me. IRS DOES NOT CALL ESPECIALLY AS A ROBOCALL!!! Do not fall for this scam...

A recorded message supposedly from the IRS. Claimed a lawsuit would soon be filed against me. Call back number the same as the number showing on caller ID.

Add me to the list who've been called claiming the IRS is filing suit. Thank God these folk were kind enough to warn me. Of course, the fact they didn't have my name and used a wireless line makes me a wee bit suspicious about them.

Just got a cal saying they were suing me as well. What are they gonna take? My $5. Lol

same as others - IRS....sadly, it must work, or they wouldn't keep trying.

Received 3 phone calls today. I called back and I got someone who was obcuolusly on another country. Answered the phone "IRS" but could not tell me what "IRS" stands for.

This is the second call I've gotten saying I was having a lawsuit filed against me by the IRS! The first one was from a different number, too. Also I'm 20 years old and have only filed taxes twice ever. Total scam. Don't fall for this.

The IRS reminds people that they can know pretty easily when a supposed IRS caller is a fake. Here are five things the scammers often do but the IRS will not do. Any one of these five things is a tell-tale sign of a scam. The IRS will never:
Call to demand immediate payment, nor will we call about taxes owed without first having mailed you a bill..

Demand that you pay taxes without giving you the opportunity to question or appeal the amount they say you owe.

Require you to use a specific payment method for your taxes, such as a prepaid debit card.

Ask for credit or debit card numbers over the phone.

Threaten to bring in local police or other law-enforcement groups to have you arrested for not paying.
