- MegCaller left a message saying they were IRS and I needed to contact them to keep from having legal action taken against me.
- Laura| 2 repliesI received a call from them also. A man from India identified himself as Officer Adam Baker. He said is with IRS and there is a suit against my ex and myself. I explained I have nothing to do with what my ex filed. Got his information and he said that they planned to send a server to him to hand him forms from IRS. He told me that it was up to me if I wanted to pay or go to jail. I said I would do neither and he said he would call me back.
- Caller: IRS

I feel bad some decent people will fall for this and give out their info - BretThis guy is busy. I got the same call from 'Officer Adam Baker' from IRS threatening legal action against me. I reported to IRS site noted above. Thanks
- Lisa BSame as those above reported. A man with an Indian/Middle Eastern accent claimed to be "Officer Adam Smith with the Internal Revenue Services." He asked for a call back to 202-350-2726 on an extremely time sensitive matter. The caller ID did match the call-back number, making it slightly more believable. However, the message did not begin at the beginning, and the message was cut off before the end.
- Caller: Claimed to be IRS
- 208-336-0842An Officer Adam Baker from the IRS left a message that I neededto call back ASAP . Legal action against me. Same guy called from 206-497-0025. Both scams. Reported to Attorney General and Treasury Dept.
- Susan replies to JimboThank you for your link. I immediately submitted my complaint since I got a call today (10/9/2014), but wasn't able to answer the phone. I have the recording saved, but he said he was Officer Adam Baker with the IRS. He said it was time sensitive and that I call them back immediately to avoid legal action from them. Also mentioned they were going to seek legal action against me. I am so sick of these hackers, spammers and other idiots that I report everyone of them. If we don't report them, they'll continue to "steal" from innocent people who fall for their scam. I did call that number back and spoke to another person. I obtained his full name and asked him to spell his last name (James Becosta). He said he was with the IRS, but when I called all I got was some music, so I held on until this James Becosta started talking. I knew it was a scam immediately since we all know if you're calling the IRS, you don't first hear music. They are pretty stupid themselves since many of us know the IRS doesn't operate that way. No one will intimidate or use scare tactics, and this guy said to me the IRS has a tax evasion suit against me. I became very heated at that point because he even mentioned my son's name. He said we had filed our taxes together and so I yelled at him saying he wasn't with the IRS, so he hung up on me. I then called back again which went into a voice recording. I told them I would be filing with the FCC and the Attorney General's Office. I also said they better not call me again and to get a "real job". I don't tolerate people like this. Anyone who reads my message, please file a complaint (www.tigta.gov) as well as the FCC and the Attorney General's Office. This needs to stop and we have to report them. Thank you.
- DWDSame as the others - officer Adam Baker w/ IRS threatening legal action. I called back from a different number, waited on hold for a while and then got a generic voice mail message. I left the following message "Hello. My name is Alan Baker with the Internal Revenue Service. Please call me right away to discuss a serious legal issue. 202-350-2726. [***]!"
- Drew DSame as all the other posts here. Called 10/9/14. Adam Baker (202) 350-2726 - I must call immediately to avoid them seeking legal action against me. I will not return the call.
- Caller: (fake) IRS
- Kevin AcordI got the same call, so what are these people looking for?
- Dee| 2 repliesLeft a message saying they were going to take legal action against me if I did not return the phone call and resolve the issue. The first part of the message was cut off, so I do not know what name he gave or who he said he worked for. He had a strong Indian accent and I had to replay the message several times to fully understand what he was saying.
- L Bird replies to Dee| 1 replyI received a call from Officer Adam Baker (202-350-2726) on October 9th. Fortunately, I wasn't home and he left a message. Really... I'm supposed to believe an Indian with the last name of Baker, who speaks in broken English, and requests my immediate attention and states that I'm not supposed to tell anyone about the phone call. Really! Unfortunately, many people do.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so. - MikeI also got a call from officer Baker stating he was calling from the IRS and stated that I would be arrested or pay 90,000 dollars in past taxes. Then after I brought up my lawyer he hung up the phone and called me back 10 min later from a different phone.

He had a pretty convincing prerecorded VM but he kept telling me that they could unlawfully arrest me which had me laughing a little bit.- Caller: Fake IRS
