Scam... IRS sends things in writing if you have any discrepancy. They do not robo-call.

Been called twice by these scammers.  Don't be fooled - just ignore them.  The IRS does sends all official information in writing - they do not use robocalls.

same, got a call from the "IRS" saying that I committed tax fraud.  Since I am a disabled vet, asked him how I could file fraudulently when I do not have to file.  Said that I needed to talk to him more respectfully since he was an IRS officer.

Someone with a foreign accent called me stating he was from the IRS and I owed taxes from 2008 through 2012 and I needed to take care of it right away.  He also stated I needed to listen to the entire call and not interrupt him because the call was being recorded.  Once I told him I was recording the call as well he hung up.

got 2 calls  left to my voice mail from someone saying there was lawsuits against me from the IRS and I should call back. I did not. I think this is a scam and want to block this. I am 67 yrs old and this is very frightening.I will be calling AT&T to find out what I can do about this, short of not answering but the message is left to my voice mail.

Got the same call. Everyone had a foreign accent and was rude, would send nothing in writing, and said I'd be arrested at work. They keep calling me. How do I make it stop?

We had two calls in one day stating that the IRS had a lawsuit against us. I Googled the call back phone # which brought  me to this site. I told my wife I thought it was a scam. Now I know it is a scam. You have to be so careful any more these days. Another one I heard of is if you get a text from some one you know family or friend who want you to text them back some information. Don't do it! Call them first and talk to them to make sure it is them and not some one that just stolen some one's phone. Also if you text them something that is important. It will be in your text messages unless you erase it but it will also be in the text messages of who ever you sent it to. If either you or your friend phone gets stolen then they can get that info after they scan the messages. If they catch these people they should lock them up and throw away the key!

I called them back from a work line and after a long period of silence, a foreign gentleman answered the phone and said...Thank you for calling the IRS, how can I help you?

Having had to call the IRS a time or two in my life, I can tell you that a computer system answers the phone and you will wait in upwards of 60 minutes before you speak a human being.
