Received a call on my cell.  Called back from land line and number is not in service.

This is scam

Received a phone call from a "Michael Fernandez" claiming to be a part of the US Federal Grant Service offering a $9000 grant for being a good citizen.  Only stipulation was providing a credit card number, expiration data and security code.  The individual had a heavy accent which appeared to have a French African flavor, though he claimed to be from Barcelona, Spain (but could not speak Spanish) and moved to Washington DC 5-6 years ago.  Michael was additionally unable to identify the name of the person he had called.  After attempting to keep the individual on the phone as long as possible to waste his time Michael became extremely aggravated and began call me a "F$^&*#@ A@@^*%#" and "C*$% S^(&@#".  Eventually he figured out he could hang up the phone.

Just got the same cal this other person got. She was  YOULANDA. Couldn't understand the call as she wasn't very used to using English. When I told her I couldn't understand her due to the back ground noise, she hung up. I did get the message that she was with the Federal service of some kind and offering $9,000 for nothing in return.

"no call list", not enforceable. They continue to call with all sorts of scams.

Received this call on my cell phone.  After I asked him to repeat what he was saying explaining I was not understanding him, he said "Who the hell are you?"  I told him he called me and hung up.  I am not pleased with these calls.  Do they really assume we will comply because they clearly state they are calling from the United States Federal Government?

got a call from a woman with a strong accent. Said I would receive 9k from the government for being a "good citizen" and gave me two options to receive the money which required me to give them my account or card information.I told her that's great to just send me a check (just to see what they would say) and she hung up lol total scam.

Said she was federal government and wanted my bank info to deposit a grant for $9000. Not happening!! total scam

Thanks for the warnings/info - I now know to have fun with them next time they call !

I am glad for the head-ups, just received this call on my cells, when I called back was disconnected.

I received call telling me I was elegible for $1000granti immediately knew it was a scam so I replied with I am disconnecting your call.

Just got this call, I didnt answer because 1. Didnt recognize the number and 2. Dont know anyone in D.C. They left no message so I assume it wasnt important. Looks like I was right! Call blocking! Thanks for the heads up!

Received call from 202-410-2585 on my cell on Dec 6, 2014. Nobody on the line when I answered.  

(Wondering if my # was possibly phished from a Gmail sent earlier in the day because I rarely receive random calls. Strange coincidence that I just emailed my phone number to a trusted recipient. )

I just received a call from this number on my cell.  The connection was bad but I heard a man with an Indian accent said that he was with the (couldn't understand this word) and was supposed to give me a $9,000 federal grant.  I told me I was not interested and to please put me on the do not call list.  He hung up about when I got to "do not c--"  

    I read the post from others, and saw that this is a scam.

Also received a call from this number. I responded with "I know this is a scam so you may as well stop trying" and of course she hung up. I get calls from all kinds of weird numbers so yea I'm always mean to them.
