I just got a call from this number (202-446-0250 and 202-446-0243) today Jan 7th. I was not home, so he left a message saying that my passport was connected with a financial fraud investigation (from the Office of Jim Marshall ??), and that I needed to call the number back. When I did, it appeared that the number had been disconnected. The guy sounded like he was from Africa, but spoke good English. Obviously trying to pull a scam.

Becareful, everyone - don't fall for phone scams.

Someone called my parents from this number and claimed they were from Homeland Security.  If my parents did not pay $800 within 15 minutes, they would be arrested and deported.  The caller also asked my Mom to go to CVS and put the money on a card, give CVS a certain number and CVS would know where to send the money.

I just got the call and called back the number amd they said that im under the rest and sending my file to the police department

I got a message from this number as well.  They claimed they were from the IRS investigation bureau.  Fully fraudulent.

Got a call today from this #, when I returned the call he said that he is an officer from Homeland Security and that i am wanted by USCIS and IRS for transfering funds overseas illegally. I started suspecting that it is a scam specially when he started asking details about my tax return. He had an accent and sounded more like someone from Africa. When I told him that he is a scam, he said he will send my file to local PD.

total scam, I got the call today and when i called back the guy sounded like he was from india and told I traced his number back to  india, he hong up.

I got a call on January 13th, 2014 from this number. A man with a foreign accent said that his name is Jim Marshall and that my father was under review from the IRS.  When I asked him what his full name and ID number was and commented on the fact that it's strange that a Jim Marshall would have such a thick accent, he abruptly said not to call back this number and hung up.

The man with a foreign accent was reading a script to me. After some time, I asked his name. He said his name was Officer Brian Allen, but he said it so haltingly, I think he was lying. I asked for his phone number, in case it was different from my caller ID but he had a hard time telling me the number. I think he was looking around on his script to see what the number was. He said some rubbish about my husband sending money overseas illegally and the Homeland Security and IRS were filing complaints against us. He mentioned income taxes not being filled out properly and wanted to know if we had any traffic tickets! He asked if I had any judgement filed against me. He said that the local police would come to arrest me in a couple of hours and to hand over my properties to them. I said I have no properties and he said goodbye and hung up. I know he was a scammer, but I am angry what this guy said to me. Really mad. I wonder how many people are so scared from this guy.

I got a message from a guy who had an Indian accent.  He claimed that he is from the IRS (fraudulent investigation and for us to call him back) and that they are putting my husband passport on hold.  I called back the number (202) 446-0243.  First there was not even a ring tone and I tried several time to call back.  Finally, when someone answered the phone, another Indian guy say that he is from Homeland Security department so I asked him why I got a call from the IRS with this same phone number and the guy suddenly hung up.  Tried to call back and still no ring tone and nobody answered the phone.  Thank goodness my husband googled this number and found this post.  Thank you everyone for trying to let others know.    1/13/2014

Last night I got a call from 202-446-0243 and the caller ID said WASHINGTON DC. The man with a foreign accent said he was Officer Brian Allen from Homeland Security. I asked how do you spell your name? He said B-r-i and then he stopped! I said B-r-i like I am writing it down, and then he said A-N to finish spelling it. I was very calm during the phone call and did not believe his lies that we are being investigated for transferring money overseas and our income taxes not being prepared by a CPA, the numbers look suspicious, etc. He said the police will come and take my husband and me to the court house and then we will have a reputation as being arrested and other nonsense to make me afraid. He mentioned to get money ready to give to the police who will come to our door in half an hour. I told him I don't have any money. He hung up and I thought I was through with him. About 9:30 this morning the same phone number 202-446-0243 called me and a man named Alex with a pure American accent asked to speak with my husband by his first name. I said last night I already talked to Brian and I don't want you guys to call me any more. Take my name off of your list. I said: I am on the Do Not Call list. I can't believe I was telling him that, like he is a legitimate business! These SCAMMERS are harassing me!

Same story here too. A guy claiming to be Brian Allen from IRS obviously Indian called my office and said homeland security will be at my house in 2 h. I told him I am going to police myself and report your scam. He hung up the phone almost immediately.

A girl with a heavy Indian accent called and said I had done Irs fraud And gave me a claim number and said I was going to be arrested, when I said I am going to my lawyer , give me more information what this is about, she hung up. When I called the number the next day,a woman answered and said this is the Irs office. I told her I know they are scammers and am sending the police over, She hung up very fast!

I received call this afternoon Jan 14th from number 202-446-0243. A message was left by a person identified as officer Alex Smith, saying that a warrant has been issued for my arrest for financial fraud with the IRS, and that I need to call the number back with the warrant id of CM100199. When I called the number a lady operator picked the phone, and connected me to Alex Smith. Long story short, this guy wanted me to pay up $800 to cancel the warrant, and $2,300 IRS penalty. He wanted me to go to Walgreen while he was on the phone, and buy a government payment voucher or something for the payment. Instead I went to the Police Department. The Police Officer talked to the guy and he still insisted that he is from TIGTA (US TREASURY INSPECTOR GENERAL FOR TAX ADMIN). So be careful, it is a scam

I just hang-up the phone, with this people, they are scammers. but let me tell you I had great time talking to them, I knew from the beginning they were scammers but I went all they way with them, I portended I was nervous and scared, they were so existed. the guy told me he wanted me to pay $2300.00 but because he notice that I was nervous he said the IRS will settle with me for $800 if I gave the my credit card    number at once, so I did (I gave them fake number) shshshsh
don't tell anyone, any way so I called back after 30 minutes to ask if every thing ok now, and if they receive the payment yet, the guy who answered the second time informed me that the charges will be posted the next day, but he did call the police department in my town and asked them not to arrest me because I have agreed to pay the amount I owe them, so I told him did he tell them I paid the full amount he replied yes. and thanked me for my cooperation.

My mom also recieved a call from this same number. He claimed he is associated with the Homeland Security. He asked for $1,500 in 30 minutes or the police will come take our family overseas. He sounded Indian and the call was first from Washington. Then he called another 6 times after my mom hung up the first time noticing it was a scam. The other calls were from Tennessee or private.

I got a call from 2024460243 "Jim Marshall". He left a voicemail saying the he was from its and that my passport was on hold by the government. He also said to call him back. First I said Jim Marshall with hard Indian accent? Weird!  I called but found no answer.

I got this call today on 14 January 2014 from this male who claim to be Ofc. Alex Mitchell ID number 1567 who had an Indian accent and told me that I had transferred some funds outside of the country and got some funds from outside of the country and therefore I have to pay the IRS 4% and if I don't pay this amount within The next 30 minutes the police will knock on my door at my home address when I asked him which address are you referring to he gave me my previous address rather than my current address and at that time I knew it was a scam so I called 911 and the officer came and confirmed with that this was truly a scam phone call and that I should not reply to that person tried to call me again and did not leave a voice message and the officer told. Me that not leaving a voicemail tells you and give you a clue that this is truly a scam.
