- NJKreceived a missed call on my cell at 7:40 pm today no message when I called back there was no answer.
- Liz replies to Tonia| 1 replyI got a call from this number at 7:30pm. I got the same message of "we may call back again." I live in Ohio.
- scCalled on 01/11/10 but left no message.
- Socrates| 2 repliesA call from this number last evening during the Massachusetts Senate Debate.
The call was seeking Am I a registered voter in Massachusetts? - ans. Yes/No
Will I be voting in the special election on January 19th? - ans. Yes/No
Coakley and Brown are running. Will I be voting for Brown? - ans. Yes/No
The call continued down its ‘hierarchical’ list in an attempt to obtain details about familiar ‘predefined’ campaign issues. The problem is that this information is not made public, and possibly used to ‘profile’ voters soliciting such information as pro/anti ‘federal dollars for abortion’, for/against ‘federal takeover of 900 billion dollar, health care’, are you a member of a church or organized religion, are you a donor to any political campaign, how old are you.
Now give that they have your phone number your name and address could be available.
Knowing this information it should be possible to identify you, how long you live there, whether you are the owner and access to the phone numbers of your neighbors.
The problem with teleprompted ‘hierarchical’ list schemes is that you do not know what the questions are if you should answer differently (not published and difficult to obtain).
The problem with ‘predefined’ campaign issues is that they are over simplified and so greatly exaggerated that under many circumstances a yes means no and no means yes, without any chance that the ‘predefinition’ has any relation to ‘genuine voter/government issues’ that might have real and substantial meaning in the short or long term.
The problem with the phrasing of the question, it was not the least bit difficult to decode that the caller was from a so called ‘conservative’ because ‘there is no federal takeover of health insurance’ by and honest stretch of the imagination.
Asking about a church or organized religion is either free speech or an attempt to see if you are susceptible to influence from flowing words of long practiced persuasion.
Asking how you are registered to vote R/D/I is sought to see how much you may be listening to the issues, needing persuasion or reachable for future influence.
Not surprising the value of the information gathered while used in the ‘debates’ and all the ‘advertizing’ media are of little, to no value, to negative value in deciding about the Nations future, these campaign are little more than practiced exercises designed to smother real issues, swamp practical suggestions guide and then misdirect those many things that need action.

- awcalled my cell phone several times.. no message left. I live in TN.
- dt replies to SocratesSame here, MA also. First time was Sunday when I picked it up and heard what it was for-"Hi this is Scott Brown" I hung up. I normally don't pick up on numbers I don't kmow, but have 2 sisters that use calling cards and sometimes they are routed through various area codes.
Got another call last night at 8:34pm, did not answer. Iam not regestered as any party member, just a registered voter. I hate calls like this and all the politcal ads on TV until next week. - BettyThis number called my phone three times within 90 minutes.

Called ID #202-461-3440 called at home phone about 1:50 PM EST
Robo-call asking if we had a "favorable opinion of President Barack Obama" - How stupid would I have to be...How stupid would I have to be to believe this is a legitimate campaign poll?
I'm sure the people of Ohio are just busting the door down to register to vote in a Massachusetts election. Which then begs the point... How stupid would a campaign have to be to call several other states?
Well... what if you wanted answers for your poll that you knew you just couldn't get in your own state and you wanted the answers to reflect a GOP bias deliberately misrepresented as a Mass. poll?
This is the reason I left the GOP.
Bogus crap like this just doesn't work anymore.- Caller: not identified

- jabanswering machine picked it up and it said it was "a survey and may call back."
- babsTN resident received call from Washington, DC, 1/11 at 7:20 PM and asked whether I was serviced by Lebanon Gas Company. Since I am not, I asked who was calling; reply was "a survey organization for the gas industry." Remainder of call was automated with questions to which I remained silent. After checking with my local natural gas company today (1/12/10), I learned this survey is being requested from all natural gas companies throughout the United States. Replies are being collected in Washington, DC. WHY?
- Pat| 1 replyThis is a Scott Brown campaign call - it's a recording that says that I support Scott Brown. Nothing can be further from the truth. I will proudly vote for Attorney General Martha Coakley for the Senate seat for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Scott Brown has accepted the endorsement of the teabaggers plus he has accepted advertisements paid for by the swift boaters. He has not denied either support. Mr. Brown is a right wing conservative republican who wants to destroy any progessive idea in Washington. I think this type of phone call is at best deceitful at worst a fraud.
