Person said I won 7k in grant money, but needed to wire $200 for fees

person said i *won 7,000 in grant money but need to wire 250 dollars.

Stacey said that I was selected to receive a $7,000 grant and had to call 202-470-0037 and give my grant code in order to receive the money.

I called the number and was told I could receive the money in a direct bank deposit, on a credit card, or as cash.  i said I wanted cash, because I was not going ot give out any information that they don't already have.

The lady (foreign accents for both women and very hard to understand, sound Indian), told me the money would be sent through Western Union and that I would have to pay a $250 processing fee.

This is where it got confusing.  I think I had to send them $250 in order for the "Federal Reserve Bank" to process the transaction to send me the $7,000.  The $250 also would go to a charity.

She got very upset when I started asking why I would need to send this money.  I asked her to send the $7,000 and then I would pay the $250 from that money.  I also asked, if the $250 was a processing fee, why is it going to a charity?

She hung up after that last question.

‘Free Government Grants’: Don’t Take Them For Grant-ed

Girl i guess people R suppose to have stupid stamped to their fore head or something! Those same 2 ROACHES tried me with the same CRAP!!!!! They need to be punished by the LAW!!!!!  BUT HEY  MY GOD SITS HIGH AND LOOK LOW.....I AM A CHILD OF GOD!!!!! YOU JUST DON.T MESS WITH GODS CHILDREN!!!!!!!.              P.S.  I CANT AFFORD TO PAY THE,RE RENT.......CATCH U NO WHAT TRYING TO KEEP MINE PAID!!!!!!!  (SMILE)!!!

Why won't they do something about these people? And can we press charges times R to hard and people like me who are disabled should be able to have them stopped!!!

I just recieved a phone call from someone with an indian accent and they said I was chosen by the government to get a grant of $7,000.00 (HA) I talked to them for a little just to see what they had to say and as I was talking to them I looked up the number and all these messages popped up saying the exact same thing that just happened to me to other people...What A  CROCK of crap... I wasnt going to fall for it NO WAY NO HOW...How do you have to PAY IN MONEY TO RECIEVE MONEY..JUST MAKES NO SENSE!!

i also got a call from this number saying that i've also been chosen by the government and was given 7.000 dollars. the guy said that i needed to pay 180.00 dollars to receive the money i almost did but i realized that it was a fraud when the guy told me to go out and fill out the form without informing the person working at western union about the money because they will charged me 350.00 dollars. good thing i had to think twice and yes i also called the lady and she sure got mad and hung up on me when i asked her why was i picked and more sorts of questions..

Got the same call. Must call the 0037 # with code MR754. I didn't call and they called back to remind me! I was called yesterday also. Each time I answer, I hear a phone ring and then answered. Each time an India accent. I never called 0037 and they never mentioned money.

Wow, they just called back to remind me again! "Please call ...0037"

I have received several phone calls from these same people.  Claiming to be different groups.  One guy told me to give him my cc# just for verification.  Do I sound that stupid!?  Anyways, today was the gov scam.  They knew a lot of info about me and the only thing I can think is that I clicked on a link on facebook for some free Toms shoes.  Then I started getting a ton of phone calls on my cell phone.  

Anyways, they are all scammers!

I received the same called as everyone else it sounded to go to be true but I asked questions and told the same women I was unable to get to a western union and can I call them back so she accepted I also told them about how people are trying to scam people and the person I talked to said how else are you going to get this once in a life time grant. Thank god my 2nd thought kicked in and wondered if the $250.00 is going to a charity why would there be a processing fee I didn't like that part so at that point I was disinterested so if anybody gets these call IGNORE THEM I know when or if they call me back I will not be understanding their language I am so glad I looked this number up to see if it was real or NOT. They also told me not to mention this to anyone else GO FIGURE.  I SEE WHY NOW. SHAME SHAME SHAME I hope no one gets fooled by this.

more  than likely   (  99  %  )   the  "  202"  area  code  fraud  scams   going  around !!!

some  are landlines...many  are  cell phones...some  are  spoofed  and  linked  to  offshore foreign countries !!!!
we've  traced  back  most  of  these  numbers  to  offshore  foreign    call centers  in  INDIA /  THAILAND  ETC....

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money.........  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

**   mysteriously  call to  claim  they  have  several  thousand  of  dollars  to  send  you....just  provide  you  bank  account and  credit  card   right  away   etc etc.........scam scam

several  of  these are  the  usual   long  ongoing  scams   such  as  :  you  have  won a  free  walmart /  bestbuy  gift  card....or  you  have  won a  free  ipad  etc......all  long  ongoing  scams

talking to the fake people. ahahaha funny as hell. they told me i need to give them $200 dollars to get my 7000 dollars. Even tho i told them i was 17, and in high school. lol. DO NOT CALL THEM.!!!!!!!!!!! Ferreal. lmao. Dont call them back its a waste of time.! this is the number i received 202-470-0037 and the id # was kb505. they need to get lives. ahahahah.
