I keep getting a message that the IRS is filing a lawsuit. I called the number back and when I asked who this was they hung up on me.  They person who answered the phone spoke broken English and I could not understand what they said.  I  know it was a fake call as I do not owe any money and already have my refund from the irs. Watch out!!

Ditto, same here. Called back and got a broken english "IRS". Yeah right. The IRS will contact you bt mail first with a return address that is obviously from the Federal goverment.

just called the number, sounded like a scammer I told them send it to me in writing and of course they said they couldn't do it there wasn't enough time.

Just received a call from 2024703274.  Said IRS was filing suit against me.  Have received my refund.

May 4, 2015 - 12:30 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time).

A very professional-like lady (obviously a recording) called and left a message on our telephone.

It said verbatom:

"Hello, this call is officially a final notice from IRS, Internal Revenue Service.  The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuit(s) against you.  To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number, 202-470-3274.  I repeat, 202-470-3274.  Thank you."

These telephone scammers are ridiculous!!  How stupid do they think we are!!  There should really be a law and enforcement of that law against these hideous low-life scum suckers!!  They cause havoc worldwide!!!

Tried calling the number back numerous times to tell them to go
"F" themselves but the number was constantly busy

Got a robocall from 202-470-3274 saying they were the IRS and a lawsuit was being filed against me.  Oh, liked the "thank you" at the end.    I didn't try to call back, knowing this is a scam.  Where can I report this to officials?  Do I call my local police?  BBB?

Got a similiar call (think was a different # to call) a few months ago.
Quite unnerving the first time.  So I Googled it (isn't Google wonderful!) and ignored it.
Guess the old stickup gang wearing masks that say "IRS" on them is at it again.
Still waiting for them to show up and arrest me.

Sadly some are taken in by it.

My mom received 2 calls today from the same number, on both calls the person is demanding immediate payment and is saying that she is being sued by the IRS, is someone going to look into this and make some arrests?

Caller stated that it was the IRS and they were filing suit against me.  This is a SCAM.  As a former police officer, I know that many people fall for this type of call.  Please report it to your local police / district attorney's office.  The phone number that shows up on caller ID is 312-263-8166,  and is not associated with the number given by the caller.

You are a liar.  This is not a legitimate call.  Your attempt to steal money from hard working people has been exposed.

I got that same automated message verbatim. I knew it was a scam, but I filed an extension this year so called my tax guy to double check everything was in order. It's definitely a scam. So annoying!
