Yes a man named Peter Williams called said I was going to receive $5,000.00 from the US Gov't Grants Dept.  He stated I need to call this number in Houston TX to receive my money 281-617-2983. And he had a very thick accent also.  Also gave me a security code to use when I called. I know this is a scam, but still going to talk to my neighbor who is a deputy sherriff.

US Government Grants, calling from Washington, DC.  202-470-5899.  
Caller, with strong accent, sounds like it could be from India.
Told me that there was a Government grant, money for me, then he asked me what was my name....go figure!.........I hung up ASAP!   When call comes in it takes a while for a person to speak, I usually just hang up, got tired and thought I would pick up to get them to stop.  What a scam, especially at these hard times for everyone.

A caller with a strong accent stating  they would be sending me a$5,000 government grant Wanted me to call John Spencer at 323-617-5965 and he would gve me more information.  The call from 202-470-5899 was from Heen Ross and she had a strong accent.  What as scam.

said i would recieve a grant from us govt. for $5000.00 all i had to do is call this other # to get my money. I just kept [***] with her until she cursed me out and hung up... what fun

omg i wish i  would of looked up this number befor i went to westrn union and sent this b$tch the money she said i had to pay to get my grant and i used my school money to send it god i feel so stupid now

i was called on 5/16/11 by a guy with strong indian accent said i was selected to recieve a  $5000 grant for educational purposes i had to pay 190 for a deposit and 468 for taxes on the grant then they asked me to pay 970  then they told me i had qualified for a 22698 grant and they would sent it on a visa card by fedex mail but i had to pay 1100 to recieve it. i feel stupid for even taking the call i talked to john spencer then another guy they all have indian accents so basicly i just lost $2800 in two days they called off these # 202-684-3503 & 202-621-0277 i am gonna try and get some info out of them and file a lawsuit cause this is against the law

you do one thing.. you can call 202-684-6772 . this is recovery interpoll dept. they can solve your problem and can provide you the refund.

I feels so dumb too. I did the same thing and now I am out 200.00. I did contact the FTC.
