Constantly calls!

Just got a call from this number and it promised 2 free tickets to a cruise for answering 10 questions.  I figured it was a scam so listened to the questions which were all pretty benign (age group, do you rent or own, do you have health insurance, do you own a septic tank, etc.).  I am baffled by the questions.  It then promised the tickets and assured no credit card or payment info would be requested.  It then asked for my name as I'd like it to appear on the tickets.  That is when I hung up.

Right, so here I was eating dinner, when I received a call from 202-495-7177. I answered the phone straightaway, believing that it was a very important call. When I answered, there was no voice on the other side, just silence. I looked up the area code list in the phone book, and this was a call made from Washington, DC. This was at 6:07 PM, August 5 2009.

A reply to all: just block the number. Save it to your phone as "Blocked Number" (as the first and last name) and just block it through your phone company. That's probably the best way to eliminate future calls from this particular number.

Just got a call from this number. Didn't answer ~ they didn't leave a voicemail.

Exact, & same as other 'parties' entries.

I am glad I didn't pick up this time.  
I have been getting Cruise calls from numbers across the NE...   They all start with a comforting blare of fog horn.

Rang through to my fax.  I guess their autodialer got the wrong number.

Just call the number back and listen to the instructions...you have the option of pressing 1 and being put on their "Do Not Call" list...I did and haven't received another call.

just got a call from this number and answered the questions.  moments later my credit card was illegally used to the tune of about 1200 bucks...anyone else had this experience?

came on and asked for "my name as
I would like it to appear on my cruise boarding passes"
I gave it to him(why I don't know) and minutes...I mean minutes
later my visa check card was used for 1800 dollars worth
of purchases at grocery stores all over New Jersey (I live in
Maryland)...so....it's a scam-surprise surprise!  Only thing I'm
confused on is where they got the credit card #s-I never gave them????

I received a call at my office, which I answered I was told I had won a 2day cruise to Nassau Bahamas. They asked my name and address and whether my work number was where I could be reached I said no and gave them my cell#. They told me to go www.claim survey.com and give the # I gave them and my zipcode to complete the transaction. I did and found it to be bogus.The # they gave to call is 202-495-7172
