Fake IRS call. Automated voice says you have $2173. from the IRS... if you call back, they ask for $150. to send you the money. If you question them, they hang up on you.

i got a call from these people stating that they have money for me

Someone called me fromthis number and tried to obtain my social Security number and my home address.

I received a call from 202-499-1627 advising me that I have a refund of $2173.00 but I owe $150.00 due to my filing mistake. It did not sound legit at all. They want you to make a payment to them so they can release your money. My mom works for the IRS and they automatically take any funds then send you a refund first. Do Not Fall For this Fake Money SCAM!

got call from this number said my son had a refund due him. found info on that number. the scammers name is RAISTUM TARISZUMAE    Rodeum st, Columbia.  if you call back they just hang up on you. lets burn their phone up and let them know we know who they are. report them to your local police.

Received a call stating the IRS owe me $2,173.00. When I called the number back, I got a message "unable to complete this call at the time"

I keep getting these calls for the same person from bill collections agents (this is not his number). This was from the IRS it said on my answering machine, I called to find out why they was calling here saying we had a refund of $167 they said it was for the same guy the collection agents are trying to get, I tried to explain to them this was not his number and they hung up on me, I called back to ask how they spelled this guy's last name again they hung up on me, I don't take kindley to that. So I typed in this number on the internet and here I am, I do not believe the govenment can not do something about this people, why is not against the law, this is not right. Every time I tried to get this guys name from the people calling me they hung up on me, I call back so many times and they still will not give me their name of the man they are calling for, I try so many times this is not his number and they call back from a different area code. I am so tried of this how can I stop this. Why have a house phone when anyone can make up a number as their number and give out to anyone?

I had a person call me from phone number (202) 499-1627 and tell me that I was going to receive a refund from the IRS due to an error that was done on their end.  He stated that my refund would be deposited to my TCF account which they have on file, I do not bank with TCF, so I let him know that if I was going to receive a refund they can send me a check, he then stated that there would be a penalty for $167 and that I could go to a Money Gram place to wire the money to them, I then asked them that if they were the IRS I can always go online and make the payment that way, I then told him that I felt this was fraud, he laughed and said, "Yes, this is fraud you will receive a letter of cancalation in the mail," and hung up on me.  Please do not fall for this, it looks like these calls are being place from India.

This is NOT the real IRS!!! I recieved a call from them stating that I have 2,173.00 owed to me from a mistake that I made on previous years taxes. They left me a voicemail to call them back, when you call them back the line is prolonged for several seconds and they continue to hang up on you, and i hear them in background saying the same thing to others I asked if this was legit and he hangs up. If you ask them what kind of mistake they will hang up on you. They also tell you that you have to send 150.00 for the penalty and it cannot be taken out of the money due to you... THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!!

this is a spam and irs will not call you.

I received a message stating it was a call from the IRS and they had an additional refund of $2173.00 for me. Of course I returned the call to see how true it was, and who couldn't use some extra money at this time of year. However, I soon found this to be a hugh HOAX!!!! The person I spoke to advised me to send the $200.00 penalty due on the refund. This set up a red flag and I asked him for his name and ID number. He did provide me with this info, which I know was not true, because the more I asked him questions the more he tried to get me off the phone. I did not give him any information and he proceeded to tell me that I would be receiving a letter in 7 to 10 days letting me know that this transaction was cancelled. If you pay attention to the backround you can hear similar conversations with so called "IRS agents" to other people trying to get the fee before the cash. DO NOT PROVIDE THEM WITH ANY INFORMATION AS THEY WILL PULL FUNDS FROM YOU ACCOUNT RATHER THAN PUT IT IN

I received the same call and initially got excited because I'm in between jobs but when I called back there was an answering machine. I don't leave my personal info like that and I pray that whomever is doing this stops because this is not cool.

I received the same phone call!!  I googled the # immediately.  I am glad I did now!!

Got a message from the same number sayimg they have a job offer for me through Walmart, no person to ask for, just the number ro call back.

i received a call from this number as well at work and they asked for my mom.  STRANGE  I called the IRS and they said there is a telephone scam going on with this number as well as 2024991634 i believe that was the number. I called back and they asked me what number i was calling from and they asked if they were speaking to ______ _____ which was my mom and i said no and they just hung up on me. I is definately a scam do not fall for it.
