I just want to know if its true about the whole 10,000 grant thing before i give out a donation

I received a call about a 10, 000 grant from the govn.
Does anyone have information on this?

I received call regarding $10000.00 grant on oct.4th .He called from a private number and gave me this number to call back for verification so they could mail me the check 202-506-8475 . I called the number and got a message saying could not take call right now to call back. The message identified them as verification dept. united states treasury.If anyone has any information concerning this call please contact me at 770-231-8590

Do not give any information to theses people about yourself because they are only running a scam on the American people for no good purpose at all. I received a phone call about two weeks ago indicating that because of my phone number that I had been enttled to a $10,0000 government grant that did not have to be paid back and no taxes would have to be due the I.R.S. They are only people who want something for nothing. They are only nothing but criminals and need to be caught and go to jail for life and they will be caught some day.

Just got a call from someone that gave me a confirmation for a grant and told me to call this number

I received the call from them today December 5, 2012 and got the same story that many people above have given.  I too sensed it to be a scam the moment they wanted a donation to a charity as a must to receive the so called $10,000 grant money.  I told them in no way should I be required to pay a charity of their choice, even though they said we give you three from which to choose it is still their choice,  in order to receive the so called Government Grant.  I said to them that very likely the money never goes to the charity as they wanted CASH only when someone showed up at the door, oh yes I would get a receipt, but they will long be gone.  It definitely has the smell of scam, crooks, deceivers, and liars in so much of what they said.  He finally hung up on me as he told me he had other people the Government had identified and he needed to call.  I hope all of them smell the crooks for who they are.
