yes. I just got a miss call from 202-506-8659. Still try to find out where is this came from.

The IRS will only communicate with you in writing in a letter mailed to your address on file .  Not email and not a phone call.

I got this message saying they are gonna take legal action against me; called the number and the mailbox is full

Received a call from the 202 506 8659.  Said to take the call seriously and to call back with a ref number.  Call back, when the person spoke with a US Southern accent but not "clearly", said I was sorry and please repeat.  They hung up.  Hard to believe if it were the US IRS they would just hang up when the recorded messaged said it was extremely important to speak with them before a legal proceeding was started against you.   For me, back ground noise did not help the person's accent and clarity of speech.

Sounds like a phishing scam.   If US IRS is looking for me, they would have the decency to repeat when some one politely requests it.

Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

Called me left message that they were IRS & to call & not ignore message or alleged legal action will take place.

Received two messages from this number saying I needed to call back, identified themselves as IRS agents. I returned the call and the person identified him self as an IRS agent, said I owed almost a thousand dollars for "miscalculations on my 2009 and 1012 tax returns" and that they were taking legal action against me if I didn't pay immediately. I asked for an official letter from the IRS and was told they'd tried to deliver it but nobody was home, therefore they were proceeding with a court case. When I asked for another letter and identification they hung up. I reported this to www.tigta.gov 

Received call at 11:15am PST claiming they were the IRS and they were going to take legal action against me if I did not return the call. I did not return the call

On 07/14/14 @ 11:13AM I Received an automated call from this number claiming to be the IRS threatening legal action against me. I called back numerous times and got an automated full mailbox message each and every time.

I have received about 2 calls everyday since July 10th leaving various messages, some using an automated system using the name "heather gray" and others with men who are Indian and can barely understand. They threaten legal action every time they call. Talk about annoying.

the phone numbers they have called me from are : 202-506-9835, 202-506-8659, 202-506-9680
if you call any of these numbers back, I read that you can be charged money. SO DON'T CALL IT BACK.

Rec and automated call from heather gray W/ IRS stating that they are taking legal action against us

I just heard an automated message from this number, stating it as the IRS and saying I, or my attorney, (so dramatic) had to call their hot line the very second I heard the message..now it's getting funny.  Then ended the message with , "take care"..LOL! I wish all scams were that obvious.

Did not know the number so did not answer.  From what others have said sound like scam.

Indian IRS scammers.   They use 202 area code to make it seem like they are from Washington DC.   Ignore them.

computer generated, automated call - was even "brave enough" or dumb enough to leave message on answering machine.
voice claimed to be from the IRS about some impending legal action if I did not call back and clear it up.

I know the IRS will make contact by mail delivered by the US Post Office, usually certified letter if it is real important.  If they want to collect money, they will get it from any liquid funds they can seize, often used to make direct deposits from previous tax refunds.  When I heard it was from the IRS, I knew it had to be a scam.  The number originated from a Cingular Cellular customer and should be able to be tracked, even if it is now on Magic Jack.

The message from 202-506-8659 claims to be the IT'S and demanded that I return the call and not ignore them.
