It was a phone recording to call the Sheriff's Office and then it gave a number but I didn't write down the number and it.  said good  if you didn't call back .

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Received a call on my cell from this number 202-517-7383. Called back from a land line and got a man who said he was Agent George and he worked for the IRS. His id# 71195. When I told him I googled this # and they said it was a fraud that the IRS WOULD NEVER CALL YOU! He hung up.  It's a scam beware

I got a very threatening message on my cell phone from a man who said that the call was from the Internal Revenue Service.  He said that I, or my retained attorney of record, should return the call the very second I receive it.  The issue at hand was extremely time sensitive.  He said his name was officer Adam Webster.  He said that if I don't return the call, and he doesn't hear from my attorney either, then the only thing he could do was wish me good luck as the situation unfolds on me.  It sounded like the voice on the phone was a prerecorded message.

I received a call from this number on my cell today. I did not answer the call. As I ignore most unrecognized calls.  I searched the number and wound up here.

This # is now trying to sell something by giving a free vacation (I didn't really listen) I just put the phone down until it finished babbling.
The robo-speaker "Josh" from "customer service" is at annoyingly high-volume.
