    Got a text message saying he's interested in my car for sale on AutoTrader and it hadn't published yet. He wanted me to email him pictures or video of the rear bumper!

    Same text about the interest in the car from AutoTrader and wanting bumper pics and video.  I searched the phone number which resulted in this site and confirmed it was a scam, but played it out to see what he game was.  They wanted to pay by PayPal, but were overseas and needed to have the car shipped to someone in CT.  They wanted me to pay the shipper and send funds to the shipper via Money Gram. They also used an IP phone number 323.305.5905. Do all scammers now have Gmail addresses?

    Got the same scam pitch. Reported to auto trader on 12/7/13 but still no formal reply from autotrader fraud... Not feeling too good about autotrader

    HI, I also got a text asking for pics of rear bumper/video and the ad hadn't posted.  The number was different but the email address was:  Peter James <pj228274@gmail.com>.  Was the same email address used in your case?
