- RandolphAARP and others of their ilk make a fortune by selling information about new members to anyone who will pay them.
They could care less if the buyer is a criminal. To hell with AARP, all I get is crooks calling me and loads of garbage mail since I joined. I've put a stop to it by quitting the AARP.- Caller: who?
- JohnLots of calls for many weeks. Never pick up this or toll-free, as above, they never leave a message.
Also getting a bunch, for a long time, who say they're calling from "your credit card company" and there is no problem, but your last chance to get ..... (something? I truly have paid no attention to whatever they claim to be peddling.) - W.T.multiple calls per day. some b/s about magazine subscription. hu.

- Carla| 1 replyThe posting by Randolph in Nov hit it right on the head. The greatest generator of 'garbage calls' in the US is the AARP.
They shamelessly sell phone numbers of members over and over again to anyone who will pay for them. No sooner does one
stop, another will start up. If you are thinking of joining the AARP you must enjoy wading ankle-deep in unsolicited junk-mail stuffed into your mailbox on a daily basis, and your phone ringing off the hook with scammers and criminals hoping to
score money from you. Like Randolph I did not renew my AARP membership, I told them to quit sending me anything to do
with them but they persist. The government should outlaw the AARP, it's the biggest scam going.- Caller: AARP
- Call type: Telemarketer
- ThinkAgain replies to CarlaI do not belong to AARP, and have never contacted them or gave them any of my information.

Hung up after answering as our business - daxton| 1 replyMy caller ID for this number, says "WASHINGTON, DC".....Damn, must be of utmost importance....that's why I never answer. Might be "Dear Leader, the Almighty Savior" of the U.S.A., lol!!
- Caller: who knows
- daxtonA suggestion: If you have a police whistle to, just blow it into the earpiece of the phone several times. Might help. I'm thinking of doing this next time get one of these "important calls"....I do have a whistle. Another idea: answer and then say "Officer, this is the call I'm wanting traced" ....that might get them to hang up quickly.
- Joe replies to daxtonThanks for your political views. Helps forum.
