Called wanting me to renew my Smithsonian Magazine subscription

They called and wanted me to renew my Smithsonian Magazine subscription. They asked for my credit card number and I stupidly gave it to them.
I called the Smithsonian and they had no idea what I was talking about and they said it was a scam. Beware. And don't be as stupid as I was.

I just received a call from this number from someone who asked to speak to Nell Bowling, who is my mother,  I said this is her daughter's residence.  then caller then said "I am terribly sorry."  I then asked if he would like her number, and the caller hung up!  My mother stayed with me for a number of months in 2005. and then went back home.  For some reason, I still get her mail, which was forwarded to her for a very brief period of time, and now phone calls looking for her at my home residence.  I do not believe that I will ever get this matter straightened out!  It is also possibly that the call I just received from this number was from some kind of jerky telemarketer who got the ladies of the house mixed up!

Call not answered.  Left no message.  Blocked.

For me it's a recorded political call????????????????????????????

call from 202-524-5373. Washington DC. Did not answer without identification. No message left. Above posts state caller said they were from Smithsonian. They are closed!! Do not answer.

call the credit card company and tell them what happnd cancel that credit card and request  a new
card and number.  If it is not too late. cancel the card   the phone number is on the card.

On DNC list.  Telemarketer

have never gotten this magazine this was a telemarketer call and I told them i was on a do not call list

tried calling thee number back and it just rang and rang.

stop with the robo calls - please!

This happened to me, twice. Now I only get junk. My mom had to change it at her post office!

I don't know if it matters, but perhaps you  shouldn't put your mom's name in the posting?

Just a cutsey "Hi" and then hang up on my voice mail. Bleh.

The man who called from this number asked to speak to my husband.  When I said he was not home and asked to take a message, the caller said the message is a long one and he would hate to do that to me, but he will try calling at another time when my husband is home.  I thought it was a very strange call.

Received a call from 1-202-524-5373.  I gave them the old one ring, pickup and hangup.

the caller hung up as soon as I answered. From the other postings it appears they are looking for a female.

I repeatedly get calls from this number during the day when I'm not at home.  They leave no message.  Will try to block it.
