Got several calls from a guy with a strong accent. Indian, I think. He started to ask questions about my mortgage. I told him not to call again, and quickly hung up. Hopefully the calls will stop.
I have a North Carolina cell number (I'm on the west coast at the moment). Got a call from this number a few moments ago. It's the third call in three days... I didn't answer the first two, didn't get to the phone in time. Answered this one because I've been doing business with a very large agency in DC. While the number wasn't familiar, I thought the -0000 might represent their main switchboard. Could only hear rustling in the background on this call. First two calls, no message was left.
I'm in east central Texas, about 100 miles nw of Houston. I got a call about an hr ago. I said hello but there was no immediate answer (good indication that it's a program call) so I hung up. So I don't know what they were selling. Later I checked my message ID and it was 202 556 0000. I wouldn't even have looked into it except since the number was 202 (Washington DC), I thought just maybe it was a government office. But I see it isn't. BTW, I think it's a good idea for people who write in to identify their locality in general terms, it may show some sort of a pattern. Judging from what the previous contributors reported, i'd guess this is an outfit in India with an exchange in DC that just does calls for whoever hires them and whatever it is...
I got a call from this number at around 3pm Central Time, April 4, 2007. I have an Austin cell phone number but now live in Chicago. Tried calling it back, and the recorded voice says something like, "1, 4, "FUDGE," zero, 1" ... I'm not quoting directly, but the "Fudge"-sounding part sticks in my mind. A slurring robot voice! I too thought it was a government exchange given the 202 area code, but apparently it isn't.
Got a call from 202 556-000 about 1:30pm today. Saw that it was a DC area code, thought it was a friend... so checked this website to see if I could link it to someone. Apparently not. I have an Austin, Texas phone number. No message was left.
I live in College Station, TX and received a call from this number. I was out and it showed up on my caller ID but they did not leave a message. It showed up as District of Columbia.
received 4/04 @8:31 pm. I'm also in Austin Tx. And this is my cell phone. My carrier is virgin mobile. Perhaps we should start adding whether this came to a land, voip, or cell line and the carrier...since it seems Austin is already a commonality. Didn't answer, about to check my voicemail.
I received a call from this number a few minutes ago and did not answer it. Tried calling it back and got recording that call could not be completed. Also live in Austin, Tx area.
I got a call and my caller ID says DISTRIC OF COLUMBIA and it is the same number 202-556-0000. I am in NY needless to say my daughter answeared it. I tried to call it back and same thing tells me my call cannot be completed as dialed.
Received four calls with this number yesterday. No messages were left on the first three. Picked up the fourth call, and the person sounded to be in trouble. Told them not call my number again, and then I reported it to my cell phone carrier for them to take any necessary action. Haven't heard from that number since.
