Received a call from this number showing that it was from DC, USA. I suspected it was a scam caller, so I didn't pick up. They left me a lousy unclear voicemail that said "Appearance before the magistrate judge or grand jury for a federal criminal lawsuit. My number is (202) 558-2078. I repeat, (202) 558-2078. By you cooperate with us and help us to help you. Thank you. Goodbye." I blocked this number on  my phone afterwards. A few hours later, I received another stupid call from them, but with a different phone number.

These are scammers and I have had multiple calls from them. Block the numbers, and do not worry!

Just received call from this number scam.  Seems on the order of the IRS scam. They just changed it to the Treasury Department

First they left the message as the post stated before and then I called back to get removed and they asked me for my information, I declined to answer it and then told them to take me off the list of calling, he hung up so I called again. The second time he answered as the tresuary department and told him to remove my number. He again hung up. Called back and he identified himself as the IRS and a badge number and I told him to remove me from His list. He hung up again. So after the twenth time of calling he started yelling at me to stop calling. I called back again and he just stopped answering. I now have him block.

I just received the same phone call as you describe. I blocked the number. Hopefully that will stop the calls.

Received a crappy voicemail claiming to be the IRS and that there was a Federal warrant for my arrest, but I called back to be sure...seems to know where I lived 5 years ago and insisted they'd been trying to contact me to pay up on an error in my 2011 tax form and since I had never responded there was now a warrant out for my arrest! The man had a heavy accent and sounded like he was calling from a telemarketing place. I asked to speak to a superior who could give me more "info" on my case and the man became verbally abusive saying since I seemed to find the whole thing funny he was just going to hang up and let my accounts be closed and let the officers come to arrest me. I insisted he transfer me.  (I found NONE of this amusing) There's a wait and I SWEAR the exact same person got back on the line giving me a different name.  He also threatened to hang up on me and let the officers arrest me! He kept insisting that my records are all in Federal Court and there was nothing I could do...and then HE started in on the "I think this is funny thing..." and I realized no matter what I did, I was screwed. So I hung up on him. Freaked out and called my neighbor who told me the exact same thing had happened to her parents. As I sit writing this, my 45 minutes are past and no officer of the IRS has come to book me.

is that legal? shouldn't someone report them. I'm sure they cause a lot of stress for some people as I can imagine! using all the big words " irs" "judge" " court" ... etc.

I just received a call from this number as well. Same message as everyone else above. After I read the above notes, I havent called them back.

Received a call from this number and immediately called the IRS they turned me over to the inspector general of the department of treasury.I told them what was said and they have opened anot investigation. People think we are dumb and can't find information about stuff. I hope these people go to prison for this crap.

Said that I would be arrested if o did not appear before the magistrate.

I just recieved my second phone call from them. I knew from first call few months ago was scam. I just called them back twice and  he kept hanging up on me after yelling at top of my lungs.

Got the same message as others.  It wasn't even a real person but a computer generated message.  Don't bother returning the call.  This is a well known scam to get personal info from you.
