Keeps calling, no message, no one there, asked for someone with similar name, then refused to say more.

Received call, and when answered the caller asked to speak with my daughter.  Daughter has not lived at this address for 7 years.  When I asked who was calling they caller said she would call back at another time and hung up.  When I called the number was told that it was temporarily out of service.

said this was voice recording to notify me of criminal charges filed against me and gave a code (which I cannot remember) and telling me to call them or I'll suffer the consequences coming to me.. about to call police

I just got the same exact call and could not remember the number either. And when I called back same thing said no one was available.

Same thing. Claimed to be the IRS with a recording saying that there were criminal charges against me.  Am I to believe that they don't send you anything through the mail before calling you? There really are rotten people out there!

Told that charges are pressed against me and I or my attorney need to call back !  They have a Washington area code , it's not funny !

That number is spoofed - faked -  and the caller is probably in India or Pakistan.

Why is this even happening ? Are they getting the money from people who return calls ? Those must be millions of calls thus tons of money .... If so, how can the FBI not know it when they are faking the call from DC ? So confused

Gave me a case number and asked to call them back with attorney info. Threatened that I would be in big trouble if I did not return the call.  And that I would nee all the help I could get.

Received the same phone call yesterday. Could tell it was a recording because it started talking before my voice mail picked up. Tried calling the number back, it rings once and goes right to a voicemail saying "sorry no one is available to take your call right now"

Have gotten 2 calls from this number. Threatening recording saying I'll pay the consequences and my attorney needs to call- not calling back- sounds like a scam. No educated professional would speak this way if it were true.

I've received 2 calls from this number and the message said that they wished me luck while the "situation totally unfolds" on me. I called back today twice and both times they immediately answered claiming to be the "department of internal revenue services." The person was foreign, same individual both times I called, and no automated system. The call cut out both times but before it did they asked for my first and last name and zip code to identify the claim. The whole thing sounds highly scammy.

Keep getting the same call.  I reported them to the IRS scam website. We should call them and harrass them.
