This number called me with the same recorded message as the link above. The 303 number above is not spoofed but is a generic caller-id from Voipo, which is a voip service provider.

A "David Smith" with an Induan accent threatened that the IRS had filed a lawsuit against me.

A guy named "Robert Matthews" of the "IRS" (w/a "Badge# 1472") w/a very thick Indian accent threatened me on unpaid taxes, went as far as to tell me they were going come & arrest me when I was "interrupting & asking too many questions". Asking for my lawyer & telling me that I needed to call back in 10 minutes or else?  Or else what? Total scam...be AWARE!

This number has been calling my parent's home claiming to be a financial company. I don't have any debt and have filed taxes every year. I tried calling them and phone is "disconnected" or out of service. Strange

I called the # back,  and told someone with a thick Indian accent that I was recording the conversation.  He hung up on me Lol

I just got a call from this number 12025596977 saying they were from the IRS threating with a lawsuit said they would take my daughter away

got a call from this number and spoke with someone with an indian accent, said he was with the treasury dep. he asked my name after i gave it he hung up. I called back he hung up again.

A man called and left threatening messages on my voicemail. when I call back a woman stated that I was being sued because I filed two years of taxes incorrectly.

Caller is a heavy foreign accent claiming to be an agent of the IRS and has a case number to pay back taxes...

This person called with the Indian accent and claimed I was going to be arrested and had warrants out for my arrest because of the irs. The first time I talked to him he claimed his name was officer robert something, I got all freaked cus he was saying all this heavy [***] like jail and 6510 dollars owed and just warrants. Well I looked up the number found these posts called him back he answered as offer robert again then when I said it was a scam he hung up, I called again and it's officer "Austin' now. I literally called back 10 seconds after they hung up

The caller gave a case number and wanted me or my attorney to call him back.If he didn't hear from me he would take measures to precede with......

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Just got a call from this number. Indian accent and recorded message. If my lawyer doesn't call back, blah, blah, blah.Hung up.

Claimed to have a criminal lawsuit filed against me and that I needed to call him back immediately for this "extremely time sensitive matter". Listed his number a 202 559 6977. Accent and attitude in message.

The caller left a message saying he was calling with respect to a civil suit that had been filed against me, not identifying who he was, but making all sorts of threatening statements. I called back and the person answered "IRS."  ROTFLMAO!

I told him that I am a retired federal inspector (true, sort of) and that I wanted his name and unit. He said "I cannot tell you that." Double LOL!

I said. "That is because you are running an illegal scam operation. We have your number and know where you are. Buster, you had better get out of town."

Yeah, same thing I heard. I double checked and he did indeed say "criminal" lawsuit with a case number. This guy had the same voice as a fellow who called yesterday, though the call back number was different. Since he is going to repeatedly call me I had nothing to lose by calling him. He knows I am "live." I've actually got federal enforcement experience so I know the drill better than he does.

BTW, I tried recalling his number and he did not answer. So he was either busy making other prank calls, or he identified my number as a problem, or he decided to take my advice from the first call and skedaddle.

Don't bother. These are criminal extortionists working out of overseas boiler rooms. Ignore and block.

If someone calls saying he's an IRS agent and demands that you send money immediately, hang up.
It's a phone scam.In fact, it tops the IRS "Dirty Dozen" list of tax scams this year, and it's been surging in recent months, the agency said Thursday.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), which oversees the IRS, has received reports of 290,000 scam calls since October 2013 and said nearly 3,000 victims have been swindled out of $14 million so far.

By altering their caller ID number to make it look like they're calling from an IRS office, these scammers often threaten vulnerable people like the elderly and new immigrants with things like arrest, deportation or the loss of their driver's license if they don't pay immediately for money purportedly owed.

Often leaving messages that say it's "urgent" you call them back, the scammers use common names and sometimes say they are from the IRS Criminal Division. They may even claim to know the last four digits of your Social Security number and send follow-up emails that appear to be from the IRS, TIGTA said.

They often demand that payments be made by prepaid debit card.

Once they make their threats, the scammers have been known to call back and again disguise their caller ID so it appears they are calling from the police department or the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Or sometimes when they call, they may say you have a refund due and ask you to provide personal information so you can claim it.

The real IRS will usually contact you by regular mail first, if it needs to contact you at all. And the agency never demands immediate payment by phone or asks for credit card or debit numbers if they do call. It also never asks for personal or financial information by email, text or social media.

If you get what you suspect is a scam call, report it to TIGTA through its Web site or call 800-366-4484.

Same as others: Heavy unknown accent, whiney voice threatened me and said to get my attorney or else... Do not know what he wanted but he tried to make it sound serious. These [***] need to be shut down! How can they be allowed to do this?
