they called me today and from another phone number too. 1-208-768-7989 I spoke to that nancy girl and another called patricia. I'm worried cause i actually believed their scam and gave them my address,savings account,my dob, and the last four of my ssn.

they also called me today saying that i was selected to receive a $7000.00 government grant.she said her name was patricia and when i called back they calim i had the wrong number.

I also received a call from 202-559-7869 and spoke with a man who had a heavy accent. I was told that I was selected to receive $7000.00 in government grants. He asked me what I would use the money for and specified that I could not use it for gambling. He confirmed my phone number and address info and requested my bank account info for wire transfer. I asked him to send a check instead. He then wanted to know the last four digits of my SS# for verification, which I would not give out over the phone.

It is a scam, please do not give them any personal information and report them to the FTC. ftccomplaintassistant.gov

I got the same call from a 208-768-7989.  It said "wireless caller" on my caller ID.  I told the guy I needed his ss# and his account information that way I could transfer the 7000 out of his account into mine.  He didnt like that and hung up.

Caller stated that I "won" a $7000.00 grant from the government and all he needed was my accout information.  He also stated that I could not use the money for gambling or alcohol.  Which is coincidently what I was going to use it for.  Be aware and do NOT give any personal info.  I dont want this guy getting a dime.

I received that same call tonight, and I asked Shelley Smith why would the goverment give me $ 7000.00. She asked me for my account information and I told her no you will not get that information. I told her since she has my address mail me the check.

Man with heavy India accent called the house phone telling me I won a $7000.00 grant because I am an outstanding tax payer and I pay my bills on time.  
Here's the joke: I filed bankruptcy this year... did they get the wrong guy.  They confirmed way too much info. on me and my family.  All they needed was my birthdate, which they did not get.  I'll be waiting for the $7000.00 check.  I won't be holding my breath!

I had extra cash I got from my parents for helping them out, so I paid these guys; so called US GOV GRANT RESERVE!!, to see if it was real. The heavy Indian guy named Alex William(LOL!!! for having English name with heavy Indian accent!!! guess he thought he could make people believe he is american or english..)

I paid $99 to the guy named Babli Sharma in Delhi India by Western Union.

I was told I will be getting my money next day by fedex, but it has been 3 days no one came to knock on my door and whenever I call him he doesn't pick up. It says leave a message.

Here is a real joke~! I left a message with different phone number and left a message with different voice tone saying "Oh I got a call that I have won $7000 from Govt Grant! oh Im so happy can someone call me back at XXX-XXX-XXXX?" and guess what... another guy with heavy Indian accent
called me with the same pattern.

I gave them the name and I guess they could recognize who I was by looking up the file and said sorry for not getting back but I have to pay $299 this time in order for me to receive the check...

well i wont waste time anymore on this... just dont fall for it. Govt never contact you by phone for grant money(at least i think..)

I got the call that I won told them to send me a check they wanted me to send $99. by western union for the starving kids in Pakistan.  why the hell would the gov give me $7000. to send 99. to a bunch of people outside the US          (GOD BLESS THE USA)

My phone call came from (202) 657-5112.  Same story send us 99.00 we will send you 7000.00 YEAH RIGHT!  I do not believe that MY GOVERNMENT would ever give me any money, especially having a foreigner call!  PLEASE BEWARE!

Just  got this call today. It is a scam!! Do not believe it!! Just look at how many others they have tried this with!!

Last night I got the same call....they said the whole bit as above and want to deposit the money in my bank account...they needed my account information,which I said that I don't give that out over the phone...I said mail me a check, he said that's too much to put in the mail....then he rudely hung up on me...dayum foreign crooks!!.....Ken

these [***] called me and fooled me but luckily i came to my senses and immediately locked my bank account before they could stick their dirty fingers in it.  Only difference with me is he called himself "richard jonson" LOL. He called me back the next day like "i call you to make confirmation" but then i immediatly started messing with him saying IM from the government.  Then he started threatening saying dont mess with the government, hes gonna send creditors to my house, it was so glorious, i responded with "look dick, i have access to the internet im not stupid, the government DOESNT give out money and you are NOT even located in washington you wont do [***]." and hes just like "fair enough" and i hung up.  it was awesome.

he did this to me damn [***] i keep callin them now to mess wit him though i put that antoine dodson mess on auto tune to mess wit him soooo funny lol

Wow! Am I glad I found this website. I am supposed to call "Alex William" back, too; but, I thought I do a little research first. I was told they would send me a check. If so,  why do they ask for your banking info? Jerks.

my husband received a call yesterday from a lady in " grants dep in washington" said we was accepted for a 7003.00 government grant. gave us a number for the grant release 202-621-0168 and the person name to talk to was nick, we had to give him a confirmation number which was 2 letters 3 numbers. Since it was weekend at 4 pm to call monday by noon to have it in our account by close of business. We didnt get the spill about paying anything.... so I dont know if this is scam r not, we dont have nothing to pay out r buy, and if they want to get money outa our account its already overdrawn...lol     what do yall think....
