Caller said that he's from the internal revenue service and if my boss didn't call him back, he would be arrested when his plane landed.

There is a widespread IRS or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both Canadian and USA residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

got call warrant because i owe taxes

call from 202-580-8121 said they were a monitoring company for sweepstakes winners and I had won $465,000 tax free.  They said they would deliver tomorrow  between 4-5 PM and asked if I would be home.  I told them yes and they hung up.  Almost as if they were "casing" my house for a burglary or something.

Got call saying I had won, yada, yada, yada. Long story short, I fell for it and cost me BIG! Do not make the same mistake this 80 year old woman did, please!

received all this a.m. saying I'd received 400,000 + from publishing clearing house; the woman sounded professional. The call showed up as Washington, DC. When I called back later a man's voice answered saying Department of Commerce; leave name for a call back. When I was on the phone with the woman, I gave her my physical address and told her I had a picture ID. She asked me to hold while she set up delivery of the check from Well Fargo by a delivery person. While on hold I a call from my daughter came in but I still held. However, I was disconnected. I tried to call back immediately, but it rung until it cut off automatically. About one hour later I called the number back and got the answering service; the man saying I'd reached the Department of Commerce, to leave a number for a call back.

Called on my cell, woman's voice, said she was with Dept of Commerce. Publishers Clearing House was cancelling 400,000 + prize since they mailed something to my old address I had over a year ago. I said it sounded like a scam; anybody can get my current address. Said I had never heard of Department of Commerce. She did not miss a beat. Said I could call back at the number on my caller ID. Glad I did not waste too much time.
