They just called and left no message.

This is a debt collector. Convergent USA. Generally, if this company is calling you, they are handling a debt that has otherwise been deemed uncollectable by other collections agencies that have written the debt off. If they have it, it is highly likely that the debt owed has already fallen off of your credit report and has no impact on your credit score. This is the company of last resort and desperation.

Convergent uses a technology that continuously monitors consumers through the credit bureaus in hopes of identifying people who have improved financially and then begin an intensive effort to demand payment on VERY old debt. If you don't know the number, don't pick up the phone. They use different numbers from different parts of the country.

have gotten two calls now, sat on hold litterly for 5 mins first time and hung up, same second time. Call back and it answers for 3 secs then hangs up. Its fricken annoying!

Yes same experience, and I am in AC 202, which makes it all the more unnerving.

Several calls, same automated lady with phony accent, and I hold, but the call eventually drops. I call them back, get a new automated (male) voice, and after he announces that it's important for them to speak with me, the call is dropped.

They must have some really wacky phone technology up there.
