"Mathew" contacted me to purchase my Jeep that was for sale on a local online site. Wants to pay with paypal and i ship the truck from Canada (where its being sold) to oklahoma. Sounds like a scam to me as the prices in the U.S are normally cheaper. why would he want to buy one all the way from here. Plus, his written english was horrible. BEWARE

he wanted to buy a boat from me also in Canada... Weird... he sent a text message and wanted me to contact him by e-mail...

Been corresponding by e-mail, he wants to buy a vintage car from me. Ship to Oklahoma, says he is on an oil rig right now. Asked for my banking info in right away to transfer payment. Sounds shady.

He appears to business without ever seeing the product.  Wants to buy my boat in BC pay with paypal send his courier to get the boat and do the paper work.  There is another fellow also wanting exactly the same thing contacts via text wants you to reply via email wants the paypal and my address......oh and get this he is also on a rig and phoning is out of the question...........english structure is bad?    Anybody figure out what is going on?

Never sell anything on craigslist or Kijiji unless the buyer can meet you in person!  If they mention Paypal or Western Union or some "shipper" you never heard of, they are almost certainly scammers.

They want to avoid talking on the phone, and revealing their voices and accents.  Often the scammers will claim to be deaf.

This clown texted me about my boat for sale. I googled the number and found this site.  I did not email him back... he asked me to email at davidmath001@gmail.com

-  new  twist  is  they  are   also  impersonating  DEA  officials  /  IRS   etc....  with  threats  to  arrest you  unless  you  immediately  send money  via  wire   transfer /  western  union   to some   offshore  country  !!!!!   obvious  scam  !!!

some  are landlines...many  are  cell phones...some  are  spoofed  and  linked  to  offshore foreign call centers  /  countries !!!!
we've  traced  back  most  of  these  numbers  to  offshore  foreign    call centers  in  INDIA /  THAILAND / AFRICA  /  JAMAICA  ETC....

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  fake  emails and  scams  after  posting  something  on   craigslist   (  old  scam  )  ...... collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  calling  on  behalf  of  a  humane  society..... $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money.........  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

**   mysteriously  call to  claim  they  have  several  thousand  of  dollars  to  send  you....just  provide  your  bank  account and  credit  card   right  away   etc etc.........scam scam

several  of  these are  the  usual   long  ongoing  scams   such  as  :  you  have  won a  free  walmart /  bestbuy  gift  card....or  you  have  won a  free  ipad  etc......all  long  ongoing  scams

Same thing happened to me. Just told him I can only transact in person. Appeared really fishy the way he wanted to structure the transaction. Also the fact that cars are cheaper in the US, why would anyone want to import from Canada?

The guy just contacted me yesterday about my boat exact same thing texted me wanting me to e-mail him which I did and then he still wouldnt call me just wanted more information which all the information was already provided?

Wanting ALL the same things as listed on this page.
Silly that these scammers haven't learned that its just as easy to google their info as it was to get ours.

My wife and I have been contacted twice in one week about buying our car. A 2006 Honda Civic. Why would anyone from another country want to pay for the car, taxes, shippin and duty on a car he can get dirt cheap in his own country. I googled David Mathew and got this site right off the bat, first listing.  All he wants is your banking info so he can rip you off.
