- Caller: Not sure
- rayne| 2 repliesbeen getting calls from this number for a few weeks now. first time i answered, said hello, they hesitated, then said something about asking questions, like no greeting or anything, so i was like wtf, then hung up. they called again later, and i answered/hung up no response to them. the next morning they called, and i let them go to voicemail, no message, and did the the next several times they called. I finally recently answered one again to some indian woman saying something completely inaudible, after saying "what" a few times she got pissed and hung up on me lol. now i just got another call from them and rejected it. im getting [***] tired of these [***]. like someone else mentioned when you call them back you get a busy tone. tried it. next time im just gunna answer and tell them to [***] off.
- Danny| 1 replyKeep getting calls from this number. Today I finally answered it and some lady with a foreign accent told me that I had won $7000.00 and that I would never have to pay it back. I told her to never call my number again and she got mad and hung up.
- NSA alreadyknows| 2 repliesSince I enrolled for college and had to fill out my financial information to see if I qualified for a grant, which I already knew the answer to and don't want someone paying my way, I've now received about 150 phone calls from these 202 numbers and they are all middle eastern camel jockies. They told me I qualified for a 15k government grant for school. It HAD to be the government releasing my information to them. There's NO other way they would know I enrolled in college! And 202 area codes are straight out of DC. Thanks o bummer.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- SandyI have gotten several calls from this number. Also saying that I had a grant for college. Told the guy that I am retired, don't intend on going back to school (2 Masters degrees already). I have plug their number into my reject file and now no calls from them come through.
- Caller: Unknow
- PamThis number has been calling me for months. I haven't answered because I figured it was a telemarketer. The number called today and I decided to answer. It was a woman with a middle eastern accent and said I qualified for a $7,000 grant from the government that I would not have to pay back. I asked how I qualified and she said I was one of 1700 people in my area that qualified for this grant. She asked how I wanted to receive the money, by checking or savings account deposit or in cash. I told her I didn't have any accounts so it would have to be cash. She gave me a confirmation # and told me I had to call her supervisor with that # in order to get my money. I called the better business bureau in Wisconsin and reported it.
- QJust rcvd call..when I answered the caller hung-up???
- Jennifer| 2 repliesThis number has been calling me for months. I answered like twice once u was too late the other one I heard noises. They called again today and I answered. It was a woman with a middle eastern accent and said I qualified for a $7,000 grant from the government that I would not have to pay back. Seems like i was one of the 700 people that qualified for this Money. She asked how I wanted to receive the money, by check or savings account deposit or in cash. I told her by check. She gave me a confirmation # and told me I had to call her supervisor with that # in order to get my money. I called the supervisor and see, like you never know it can be true. And he said every was good and yea and since they didn't ask for any information of me I was like this seems legit, until he told me I had to deposit 320 dollars to western union company so I could receive the money, I was thinking like I'm not doing this so I just went along until he said by and I hanged up.

- Matt replies to JenniferI had the same call but decided to check online before I called the 202-738-1068 with the IP number she gave me. Now I know not to bother calling as I certainly will not be forwarding any money by Western Union
- Matt replies to Crystal| 8 repliesSame experience but answered and she gave me another number to call with a validation code
The number was 202-738-1068 and the code EM124. After reading these reports not bothering to call - Mike-in-MD replies to Matt| 4 repliesIt is a scam for certain. There is a posting on the FTC website about Government Grants Scams with a number to call to report it.
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0113-government-grant-scams - KyleLiterally 5 minutes ago, I received a call from this number. I have received multiple calls from this number, and i have rejected all of them until now, due to the fact of them not leaving a voice-mail. I don't know about anyone else, but my caller was "Maria" and she had a foreign accent, saying she was with the United States Grant Department, and that I had been selected for a Federal Grant of $7,000.00 that I didn't have to pay back, due to me paying my taxes on time, and not filing for bankruptcy in the past 8 months. At that point she asked me to verify some information, and I told her "I don't feel comfortable giving you my information", she said "what" and I then hung up.
- marianne replies to Matt| 2 repliesI had the same experience and they wanted my bank information to deposit the $. I requested a cashier's check and they said they couldn't do it that way and that is when he gave me the "approval code" BL600 and a phone # to call 206-866-5749 for his supervisor Fiona Farmer. I checked to verify what I already know which that it IS a scam!
- BellaThey called several times, left no message to identify themselves. I called back and got a voice message: Calls are not being accepted at this time. Sounds like a scam!
