CraigList scam, claims is overseas want to pay us thru PayPal

I received a text for a pay pal transaction. An email was sent saying I received a payment of 600 dollars. I was only asking for 150. Was asking if I was on the way to the post office. Also asked if I was selling anything else. Very strange and frustrating!

I got a txt from this number stating almost the same as JAH got but that he is working for San Padro oil off shore and looking for a truck for his son and to only txt and he can pay through pay pals

Just received an SMS stating:  Oh this is exactly what i've been looking for on CL, do you still have it?  please get back to me ASAP.   Thanks to this site we wont be dealing with them :)

I posted my truck for sale on Craig's list. Later that day I got a text from this number saying the price was fine and that he was over seas. He wanted to pay us through paypal so that he could suprise his son with a truck. The guy was kind of strage, so my mom asked me to google the number before we went any futher... found out is was a scam.

I just got a text wanting to buy my furniture for his son and he works on an oil rig.  He would pay thru paypal.  was almost insisting on getting my email address.  I asked him to give me his and I would send him and invoice first.  then i googled his phone number and this is what I found.  Thank you so much for posting this.  I would have lost alot of important money in this transaction.  Not to mention he texted me at 3am.  He has his scam all worked out.  You can tell bc he said he would have an agent come to pick it up, transfer title and paperwork.  I knew something was up!  Don't do it.  If your gutt tells you not to, then don't!!!

and I posted it on Craigslist too.  So he is praying on craigslist obviously!

This guy is a scamer! I put up my camper on Craiglist and moments later he texted me saying he was intrested and the price was rightl. He told me that he was getting it for his son and that he worked off shore. This did not feel right so i looked up his number and it led me to this.

posted a car on cl about 15 min later got a text from this guy, saying he was going to buy it for his son,could only pay thru paypal yea its a scam glad i looked his no. up

posted a camper on craigslist and shortly afterwards got a text asking if I still have it for sale looked up his number Randy he calls himself has a history of being a scammer BEWARE

just  a  fyi  that    there  is  a  huge and   never  ending  amount  of  fraud  and  scam  calls    from the   "  202 "  area  code"............

some  are landlines...many  are  cell phones...some  are  spoofed  and  linked  to  offshore foreign countries !!!!
we've  traced  back  most  of  these  numbers  to  offshore  foreign    call centers and  scammers  working  out  of , but  not  limited  to.....  in  INDIA /  THAILAND /  AFRICA /  JAMAICA    ETC....

***   THESE    LOW  LIFE  LOSER  SCUMS  ALSO   IMPERSONATE   US  GOV'T  AGENCIES AND   OFFICIALS  (   CIA  /  FBI   )    AMONG  MANY  OTHERS..........


they  will  at  times  leave   obviously  fake  messages   that   they  " have  caught  you "  in  some  type  of  mysterious   drug   operation  and    related   fake  stories  / messages"...........(  just  one  of  numerous     fake  stories  )....others  noted  below.............

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money.........  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

**   mysteriously  call to  claim  they  have  several  thousand  of  dollars  to  send  you....just  provide  you  bank  account and  credit  card   right  away   etc etc.........scam scam

several  of  these are  the  usual   long  ongoing  scams   such  as  :  you  have  won a  free  walmart /  bestbuy  gift  card....or  you  have  won a  free  ipad  etc......all  long  ongoing  scams

Posted a Craigslist ad which i was attempting to sell a dirtbike, and four wheeler, this guy/gal needs to be found and off with his head!!! What possible enjoyment to ppl get from this? I did advise I was law enforcement and that I was not falling for his non-sense. Do not give him any information.....

My step father was selling his bike on Craigslist and received a text from this number. This guy said he was okay with the listing price and that he was working on an oil rig and wanted to buy it for his son. He was requesting to use PayPal and insisted on it being a reliable way to do the transaction. The red flag was when he asked him to help make the payment to the people that were going to pick up the bike. So I decided to google the number and hopefully it was in time. I had to change all of his accounts so that this guy "randy" couldn't hack into anything! Be careful people! SCAM

received a text asking if bike I was selling is still available. Got the text within an hour of listing it on craigslist in myrtle beach. Glad I found this site, and won't waste my time with him (say's his name is Randy)

Got the same guy, named Randy N, he works for Don pedro off shore oil crap. These people really piss me off

Got a txt from this number as well and he said his name was Randy. Offered to pay me more than the listing price of the car that I was selling and seemed a little to anxious to buy it. I decided to google the phone # and found this site and Im glad I did. If you have gotten a txt from him do not entertain him at all and say you will report him to the law and that will get them to stop.

We just got a hit from this guy Randy as well. Basically saying the same stuff about his son and about paypal. He wouldn't stop txing or insisting on our paypal email and info. I sent him a not so friendly tx back ;). This is for sure a SCAM. Please beware...

Just got a text from this guy he says is name Randy Nguyen30@hotmail.com same story as above
