Received a text message from this number

I also got a text from this number claiming to be Charlotte Scaddan, an employee for the United Nations. The text was in reference to an item I'm selling on Craigslist. Why would a UN worker buy something from me in Athens, Ga through Craigslist?!?! Stupid scammers.

Charlotte must have a brutal commute to work, since the UN is in New York, NY, not Washington, DC.  

Hard to keep track of all these little details when you are busy scamming ;)

fraud  scammers  from the  202  area  code:

some  are landlines...many  are  cell phones...some  are  spoofed  and  linked  to  offshore foreign countries !!!!
we've  traced  back  most  of  these  numbers  to  offshore  foreign    call centers  in  INDIA /  THAILAND  ETC....

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  free  money / scam  giveaways / humane  society  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

**   mysteriously  call to  claim  they  have  several  thousand  of  dollars  to  send  you....just  provide  you  bank  account and  credit  card   right  away   etc etc.........scam scam

I received a SMS Text message from same Charlotte, who wants to purchase my Craigslist Ad Laptop for it's step-son in South Africa. Will include additional $150 for shipping! How nice. :)  Charlotte is even sending payment through PayPal. Wow, have they hacked PayPal, too?  So dying to see how PayPal, who owns the rest of N.America that Comcast doesn't...DARE ME TO...

Text from someone who saw I had a dress posted on Craigslist and really wanted it. Could only pay by money order or certified cheque. Wanted me to remove the ad from Craigslist and give me an extra $50 for my trouble...  Also wanted to give me extra money for her seamstress who would pick up the dress and I could pay her with the extra money. I said I could only take cash or interac e-transfer and haven't heard from her since!
