- lord_cellytronThis number has called my cell twice this afternoon. Called back, was told by my carrier (Verizon Wireless) that the number has changed or is no longer in service. I assume it would have been another spoofed "government" call offering me thousands of dollars.
- Caller: spoofed scammers
- hopeSame call here. Sounds off to me. They called before and when I tried to call back I was told the number was invalid.
- shiningi got a call from the same number too. all i heard when i picked up was a girl voice humming and then she hung up. SCARY!
- Caller: wireless caller
- FedupI got a call yet again from this number. I answer with "Homeland Security how may I direct your call" and a guy with an Indian accent says hello then hangs up. Yesterday the same thing happened but he said something in his own language before hanging up. Something like "oh [***]" I imagine.
How do I get it to stop?- Call type: Telemarketer
- TinaThis number keeps calling me! When I answer most times they just hang up. One time a lady said she was with the government and then hung up. Its so annoying!
- Caller: telemarketing

- TiffJust got a call from this number. I answered it. Victoria Jones from the Government Grant Office. With an Indian accent?? Yeah right. I let her go through her whole schpill about giving me $7K in which I have to send $225 for a security deposit. In turn I receive $7K, an extra $800, and my security deposit back. After she did all of that. I asked her "is there something else I need to do". She said just take your phone, I.D. and security deposit to Western Union. I said "And after that I'm reporting you to the government, because I'm a federal government employee". Ms Jones decides to argue with me about her being legit. I said "oh so your script doesn't read 'Because you pay your income taxes on time, you have been awarded a $7K government grant! To get your free grant, simply give us your checking account information, and we will deposit the grant into your bank account!'..... I'm reporting you". Then she hung up. I called the number back (202-657-2222) and of course the phone has been disconnected. Verizon line. There are too many call centers in India and this is what happens with globalization.
- Caller: Government Grant
- WinnieThis same thing just happened just happened to me from a Mrs jones! When something is to good to be true it is! I'm glad no one was prompt in doing this foolish thing! Plus the government has my bank account number from paying my taxes. There the idiots not us:)
- Caller: The fake federal government
- Leonetta CookI received a call telling me I was a recipient of a grant that would come my way as soon as I went to Western Union and sent $200 as a security deposit. The voice was heavily accented. The man identified himself very quickly and I did not hear where he said he was from.... something about Federated..... not sure of anything else. Thanks.
- StacyI just received the same call, I didn't catch her name but she said I was selected to receive a $7500 grant and all I had to do was take my ID, cell phone, and $200 to my local western union. At that moment I stopped her, told her it wasn't going to happen, and hung up on her. I knew it was a scam because the government has my number, you don't have to pay for a grant, and I am pretty sure that I wouldn't have to wire our federal government money in India.
- Caller: Federal Reserve Bank
- CandyI just reported them to the national DO NOT CALL complaint center. If you are on the list, they take care of it. I rarely have the same outfit call again.
