Calling me about grant money.

I received many cllas from this number offering me money from the govermet

This person called my 70+ year old father's cell phone and requested his checking account number to deposit money from the government he was owed!  WTF! Caller gave name of Patrick Smith.

I received a call from 202-657-4059 stating I was randomly chosen to receive 8,400.00 from the US Federal Grant Department and it would be in my bank account as quick as today. They ask for your bank information and all your personal information they then ask you to go to your local drug store to purchase a $250.00 moneypack from Green Dot and to call back with the serial number on the money pack. The customer representative was obviously not from the US but his name was Tony Barker, how ironic. He stated that I had to pay taxes on the 8,400.00 grant that I would be receiving. BIG red flag!! This is obviously a scam if you ever have to send money for FREE money it's definitely a SCAM. I have applied for Federal Grants for school so at first I thought it was legit until we got to the Green Dot card conversation. Please people I know that amount of money you could use especially in the time that we are in but it's not true.  

So these people called my wife for about 3 weeks. Always the same deal. You won a grant $8400. Give us your bank account info send us $250 bla bla bla. So I told my wife to keep them on hold while I call the real Dept of Treasury. Guys remember we can call any Dept. FBI, CIA, NASA, even the white house. So after 5 mins on hold with the DOT (dept of treasury) the ladies on the phone told me this completely a fake and told me please hold I'm transferring you to Homeland security. My phone call was disconnected but I will be notifying Homeland Security. Guys if your Income tax is mailed to you why would a grant check be mailed to you. Why would the government want you to use western union? Please report to homeland security when you receive these calls.

Received a call stating I received a grant for 8400.00 and to call 202-657-4059. This person stated for me to go to Western Union to pick up my money. They want me to sent them 250.00 for a fee. This is scam and I told them so and I also told them I was reporting them as scam artists. Don't fall for this. These foreigners trying to use the government to rip off American citizens, this needs to stop NOW!!!!!.

 Same scam here but called from an unavailable number and gave me this number in case  were disconnected. Called 5 times in one day, within 3 hours. Calls did not stop with threats to call and report this as a scam so a little profanity was in order.

Yup called here as well. Not making the return phone call .

they called asking my personal information wanting me to go to western union and pick up grant money but i had to make a call back to them

They continue to call claiming 18000 is money owed to us.

This is a scam do not call them back they will give you a confirmation number asking to call their bank manager? Seriously block the number!!!!

These men are not citizen of the US and are telling me that I won a grant of $8,400 but had to go to local pharmacy an buy a Green Dot Money Pak,for $4.95 then tells me to load it with $250 call him back and give tracking number and they would deposit the grant money within an hour. I unfortunaly gave my debit card number,but red flags finally went up and I decided to goole them like I have done so many others that call with different line but same scam. WHAT EVER YOU DO IF YOU SEE A 202 AREA CODE. ITS A SCAM.......................PERIOD Someone left a link to report fraud to them the real US government.
Try to scam a disabled women who is divorced. That is just disrespecting us,and this great land USA.............We are not bothering them or trying to scam them.............

Got a call today about some grant money gave them some fake information, and have been calling them back and harassing them! If you're going to lie about grant money try not to get this [***] on your line (ME).

I'm jealous - my fake grant was only $6700!!!!  lol

I hate scammers.  My poor mother falls for every one of these stupid calls.  I've had to take control of her bank account to prevent further losses.

I received a call from 607-527-5366 first about 4x from these people in one day. I finally answered and it was telling me that I had a grant of over $6000.00... from the government, and asked me how I wanted it sent ... I told them I wanted a certified Bank check!!  They continued to ask for my full name... I then realized  that the government would not ask me how to spell my name...they also gave me a 4digit grant ID # and told me to call this number-- 202-657-4059.
I then called this number and it was busy.. so when I finally got threw I told them I was reporting them as scammers.

They call me telling me that I have a grant for 6,000.00. I told them that I have not applied for no grant money. Don't talk with them. I need all my money. You know you have not applied for grant money so why would you talk with them? I ask them question. Do not fall for anyone that you need to send money to get money what grant smile?

I got a message on my answering machine (yes I still use one of them instead of actual voice mail) and at first it was somewhat believable to me as our mobile home was basically destroyed in super storm Sandy (but living in it since anyway as there is no where else to go) and unfortunately we lost our recipes from what we spent what we got from Insurance and FEMA, and that is a problem for RREM whom IS going to replace it for us.  I kind of thought RREM might have filed a grant application on our behalf.  My caller ID said it came from 202-657-4095 and the message said the "Grant" was from Health and Human Services, for $6700 (I know RREM is looking for a total of $5000) and asked to Call back John Watson at 202-4059 or Rob Allens at 202-470-5011 - I was skeptical but attempted to call back anyway on the off chance it was RREM doing it on our behalf.  well 202-657-4059 goes right to a voice mail that dose not announce whom it is  just says the person you are calling is not available, and 202-470-5011 just keeps ringing, and ringing.
Now know I shouldn't have, but left a message on the voice mail with just my phone number (obviously they already have that anyway).
But I still didn't feel good about it for some reason - so I gogled both names one take me right to the Office of Inspector General, the other gave me info on a doctor in London.
Then I Googled both phone numbers to call back, but nother other than a services that (for a fee) would tell you who has it.  Googled the number my ID said it came from - and found this page....

I also received a call from 202-657-4059. Caller was a woman with a British accent. Message was somewhat garbled, but said something about federal grants and to call that number and ask for John Watson. Tried to call to give them a few choice words but call went to a voice mail saying they were unavailable to answer the phone. If this number calls....DO NOT GIVE ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO THEM!!!!!!;

Lol. My grant was only $6,700. Do not believe these people. Tell them send you a check and you have only a P.O. Box#. Never give out you private info. Scammers.!!!
