Scam call from this number wanted info.stated I am recieving 7000.00 grant from us government.Sounded more like call came from Arab country,such as India.

i got the same call.......cldnt even understand what they were saying but i was going to get 7000 dollars....

i almost just fell for it good thing i jus asked the inlawz

My wife at random got a call from this supposed organization stating that she was eligible for a $7000.00 US government grant. We in fact used a money transfer through Western Union of a total of $249.00+$10.00 fee to send and receive funds within minutes. After waiting for funds to be transferred into the account of our choice we were then notified that there were additional charges and supposed Federal and State Taxes in the sum of $435.00. To all whom receive a call from this number be knowledgeable that this is a scam to steal your hard earned dollars. If you receive a call from them they are of an Arab accent, claiming to be using the area code (202) claiming to be within the area of Washington D.C. If you don't take heed to our warning you will lose your money as well to Receiver Neeraj Jain, Indian Rupee. This is the mother of all scams don't make the same mistake as we did and get taken for a ride.

got call from 202-657-4227 saying that we would get  7000.00 if we go to a western union and send 249.00 and would receive 7000.00 in min. we called it back and ask for the website that they have said it was www.grants.gov and went to website and called that number 800-518-4726 and told them all about what they are doing to people as they are saying that they are them and the women that anwered the phone said he name was ashely and she was american not arab so we called them back and said that we talk to the website and they said that they do not call or email no one for for money that it was a scam so we called 202-657-4227 and told them that we have reported them too the www.grants.gov and they are looking into this number and this so called  place to find them and i hope they do ! i am so sorry for all you that fell for this and hope you will look into things before you give money to someone before you look it up ! so if you want make a fraud claim call that number to stop them son of b**ches ! if you want to get a hold of them call *67-202-657-4227 and they will anwer your call and tell that we are all coming after them and will find out were they are at so dont set back and cry call them back and let them know how you fill and maybe they will stop that number ! god will give all that you guys have back and more!

I just got a call from this number, saying I was getting a $7000.00 U.S. grant and it didn't have to be repaid, can use it for whatever I need too, they had my address and wanted my date of birth, saying all I have to do is call this number back to verify with a supervisor, they would deposit it directly to my bank account, I don't think so, the guy could hardly speak english.

I just received a call from that (202) 657-4227 claiming I had been approved for a grant when I asked how much do I have to pay they told me nothing then turned around and told me 259.00 they I laughed and they hung up. These [***] need to be caught and let me get a hold of them

I got the same call last night from a man with an arab accent that told me I had been selected along with 20,000 others in my area to recieve $7,500 government grant because I was a good citizen and I had not declared Bankruptcy and that in order to receive this grant I had to go to western union. They knew my email, DOB, but had the wrong address. Then I was given a phone number to call and they would give me information I would need to collect my grant (a confirmation code). then they told me I had to go to the western union with 3 things a cell, $249 and a license. I called them back and asked how to verify it was a government office, and the woman got agitated with me immediately, and told me to check the website www.grants.gov 
I looked up the phone number and numerous things popped up about scams, so here I am. Do not fall for it.

Just got the same call at my job!!!  What do you have to do to report them? Cant the Goverment get them for fraud so no one else gets taken advantage of?

I was given the same information send $240.00 dollars by Western Union,and I would receive $7000 dollars  thank God I read the information on the web.   J. King Lufkin Texas.

This is EXACTLY what just happened to me! My husband said I should call them back and tell them I am from a government agency and that I was going to investigate the scam! I am thankful that I did not fall for it, and am sorry for those that did. The worst part is I really could have used the money to go visit my granddaughter that was just born on Monday..She lives in NH and I live in FL...Good luck to all of you.

THIS IS A SCAM. This is a version of the advance-fee-for-something scam where something is a grant, grant paperwork, business plan, loan, scammed-money refund, lottery winnings, interest rate reduction, tax reduction, gift card, refund, doggie, cruise, vacation, free gas, etc., and the advance-fee is for tax, shipping, registration, insurance, secure handling, processing, etc. They may send you a fake check, may want your credit/debit card or bank account number, or tell you to wire cash via Western Union, Moneygram, etc. They can put recurrent difficult-to-cancel monthly charges or a 1-time charge on your card or bank account, and sell account info to other criminals and you'll have to replace accounts altogether. Wired-cash is irretrievable - once it's picked up at the other end, it's untraceable and gone. If they want you to call them up for instructions, they may tell you not to discuss the wire with Western Union desk clerks but the real reason is WU clerks are familiar with these scams and will warn you not to wire the money. If you give them the WU Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) for the wire, they can pick up the money from anywhere in the world. Same exact thing happened to me! They called the b**** got an attitude wen I asked her how can I be sure that ths i s legit. Thn a month later I was believeing tht it was legit. Got my little social security check of 695.00 and was about to do it. Luckily I couldn't remember the website address to thm. So I googled it & ths is exactly what I said: phone number 2026574227 is to what website address & lo & behold ths page is what I pulled up. Thank God for google. Dnt kno wat id do with out it. Id be lost if I didn't hvr my google! Lol!

Recieved this scam call on my cell phone.  Government grant.

Thats some bull [***]. These people want to get them selfs shot. We searched the telephone number and it is all a scam. You better keep your money in your pocket.....

Complete scam when I asked the lady who she worked for again and what was going on she had an attitude problem and repeate herself over and over again. And I called the number rite back like she said to talk to a supervisor and she answered.. Don't get fooled by this scam she and all of the rest are all fakes.
