I recieved a call from this number along with another number stating that I have been selected to recieve $10,000.00 free grant. They gave me a confirmation number and said I had to send $100.00 charity donation before I could get the money put on to my card. then said the bank, (Federal Reserve Bank) would be calling me and within a few hours or the following morning the funds will be put onto my card. This just happened today, I have a feeling I was scammed, the guy that first called me called again saying he was someone different but he called from the same number saying he was calling on behalf of the bank. Now, noone is answering the phone!

I also received the same call from this number claiming that my daughter is qualify to receive $10,000.  He claims that he is calling from human health service southwest washington dc. I want to know if this is a scam or for real?

I too received the same phone call tonight. I opted to receive the $10,000 in a paper check and was told to call another number.  I called the other number  1-202-657-4588 and actually talked to some rude man to call back in the morning.  I am thinking this is too a scam

This guy will call or you'll be directed by another number to call him claiming your "10,000" dollar grant.  Didn't give him any info I went online first and found out it's a scam.  I called him up and cussed him out and said he's a low life, that's the polite version.  This guy actually had the nerve to call me back an tell me about how he hates americans and bragged about how he has scammed us and then tried to say how he would shoot me.  I told him to go to hell and hung up.  This number is 100% a scam.

very upset brad johnson well his name clearly isnt that... smh Im glad that was an upside bank card with no money on it!!! they thought they got me, and I got them... very upset!!! but obviously we as people are so money hungry that we believe calls like this and be ready to give in, Im glad I didnt send the money even though I am truly in need of money!!!!

I received the same call today. Said I had been selected to receive a $10,000 government grant. They gave me this number to call to get the details. When I first called the guy said he would call me back in five minutes, that he was busy. So, finally when he did call he told me that  Fed- ex is supposed to call in the morning and I would have to pay a one time fee of $120.00 to get the check. When I told him I wouldn't have the money, he said to call him back when I had the money and it would be set up. What a scam!

I knew something wasn't right...the same exact thing happened to me yesterday but thank GOD he didn't get my information.   BRAD JOHNSON or so he says was extremely rude when I wasn't able to make it to a nearby Western Union & is continuously calling me.  He is also using a Skype # (661)748-0240 so everyone beware!!! I highly doubt it but did you ever get ahold of anyone since?

It's like Christmas in July! SHILL ALERT! Just read (& then ignore) the post above. Poor english & even worse word structure. I can just smell the scam from here! Why do they bother posting shill comments here? Makes my day to say "You're busted!"

I called the Attorney Generals office in Washington D.C. and they said they have several complaints about this number. So they are aware so why not get it shut off and have the people that try to get another number refused for one? Just a thought.

I just got the call today saying I was selected for a 10,000 government grant that didn't need to be paid back. Being on a small fixed income, at first this was good news. However, when they asked for my account numbers I started to reconsider my "good fortune". I had just changed acct. numbers because, yes I admit, I had fallen for a scam just last week. I didn't give the numbers, instead "opted for a paper check" (which, by the way, the government will not send paper checks, they are automatically deposited. FYI)
So, when I was contacted by "Robert Johnson" I told him I had looked up his number online and found several postings (thank you everyone). I told him that I had filled my quota for falling for scams this month. He of course denied it was scam and was continuing to rant when I hung up on him. Thank you to all of you who posted about this before me. You saved me a lot and if you lost money, I hope somehow you will get it back. In the meantime, bless your heart for sharing.

Okay, so I just got a call from that number again. The caller ID lists it as : johnyjohny1616, 202-657-4588.
How dumb can they be that after they have been told you know it's a scam, they call you back from the same number and attempt a different type of scam??? REALLY???? And the government knows about them, for real? Why is no one shutting them down, they are committing internet fraud, interstate fraud...there must be something to charge them with!

My husband Recieved the call that he was getting 7,500 dollars if he just put a down payment of 262 dollars sounds for real right? the lady he spoke to spoke very clear english and was rather nice!!! and understanding.. He then explained it all to me and I found it fishie go to a western union call me when your there and ill be on the phone with you the entire time you are prossesing this transaction okay promising right!!! then i find all this on the interent and I am still questioning!!! we could really use the money but I'm so nervous its unreal.Ive googled government grants and it states obama is giving out 10,million in grant money to stimulate the economy!! could this be for real? the 202 area code is a legit Washington DC number I google that as well... However today I called this number demanding answers to my questions and they answered them!!! I yelled in to the phone is theis a scam ill track you down and turn you in I can't afford to give and lose 262 I have bills to pay!!! they transfer me yet to another man Patrick Roberts!!! okay he as well spoke very good english!! He was not rude at all he explained to me ma'am we are not here to take from you we are here to help you this is not a scam!! okay he informed me that when my husband calls tomorrow he can speak directly to him Patrick Roberts okay sounds good still alittle fishie to me!!!!

I just received a call today saying I will get 10,000 grant for what ever financial reason I need it for, I can get the money transferred in 30-40 mins if I get a green dot voucher code to hold on to and talk to their accountant and a member of the IRS so when the grant is transferred, I want have to worry about owing the IRS for the money from receiving government assistance. This really don't sound right. If the IRS is going to take out money, then they will do it from that grant, right?

So you get a call, no idea who you are really talking to---and you believe every word. This is why these scams work. Red flags folks, red flags. Please take the time to read up on the fee-for-money scams in the forum.
